Well it isn't actually English language. It was German language and dubbed into English. But I have to agree with you about Roland Topor's Knock. What an obnoxious laugh. However I do love the scene where he escapes from prison and meets the Count who is releasing the rats. Knock is laughing and giddy and asks his master what to do next to which Kinski says "Go north to Riga" with a clear annoyed look on his face, as if even he is annoyed with this twit.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Get the **** away from me!"
I read that both a german and English version were shot at the same time.

fantasy island could be a hit if it had some petulant scorned babe wanting to be a 50 foot giantess.

Thanks Bogie, as you've just reminded me of another film which includes scenes set at a rural southern prison camp, and which also has a character in it with only a few minutes of scene time but still makes an impact upon the story. In the Steve McQueen-starring western Nevada Smith (1966), the lovely Suzanne Pleshette plays a Cajun girl named Pilar who works in the rice fields near the prison camp McQueen is for a time sentenced to during the run of this story. She decides to help him escape and obtains a small boat in which to navigate the swamps in which the prison is set within...
Unfortunately, her fate is also not a happy one.
***Spoiler alert***
(...in this movie it's not a flock of birds that peck her to death, but a water moccasin that bites her leg after they fall out of the boat)
she wouldn't have been bit if McQueen hadn't turned over the boat.
O'Brien never shoulda made that crack about him being half-indian.

I'm surprised more aren't familiar with this film. it's a howl and ya gotta see the scene where mancuso weakens and goes into a restaurant and orders a big fat burger and is overwhelmed with guilt when he starts to eat it. alotta unintentional laughs. he runs into the bathroom and starts doing these crazy callastenics and shouting "GET OUT SATAN!"
he sure gets a janitor's attention and I guess meg foster does look kinda like kim cattrail.

Or, as Leonard Maltin suggested: "Watch this film and you will understand why David Janssen became a fugitive."
that's his best line.

I thought those brady bunch movies were very good and both gary cole and shelley long give extraordinary impersonations and a very brady sequel was even better.
greg flopping just a few seconds after that song is priceless.

Whose responsibility is it to preserve the films? The Library of Congress? Or the studios/rights holders?
I would say the latter.

possibly the best supernatural thriller ever made. nothing after comes close to it and bonnie bedelia as vampiress susan Norton at the end is visually unforgettable.
the torrents out there for it most are no good so I grabbed a 2 parter offa dailymotion but it's the 2-hour british version. I'm glad I got the 3-hour CBS version already.
if anyone is interested the Harry Sukman music for it is posted on youtube.
