  1. tcm could if they wanted to show the full version of Will: G. Gordon Liddy with Robert Conrad in one of his finest performances but they can hide behind 2 things...

    1. it's TV fare

    2. the predominately liberal tcm viewers would not wanna see it.

but they still show All the Kings Men, don't they?

show the best work of an artist that's my motto.

  2. at least we can be comforted by the thought that Rance Stoddard was honest enough to tell Hallie what really occurred. I bet that took the smirk off her face.

she probably thought Tom was too conceited to do such a thing and loose her she thinks she was such an indispensable cactus rose to um.

she probably didn't think he had that kinda indomitable integrity.

    he showed her!

SEVEN DAYS IN MAY is a really great film. You have such acting titans as Kirk, Burt Lancaster and Fredric March, not to mention great supporting actors such as Edmond O'Brien, Martin Balsam and George Macready, to help make this film such an enjoyable acting experience.

I also appreciate how Jiggs (Kirk's character) admits he actually agrees with General Scott (Lancaster) about the futility of signing a bomb dismemberment pact with the Soviets, but clearly he does NOT approve of the General's methods to try and prevent it.

    Great movie all around.

I think after a defeated Scott tells his chauffeur to "take me home' he shoulda gone to see Eleanor Holbrook. ten to one she woulda wrapped her arms around the guy still being madly in love with him.

Lawrence:  That's a lot of movies.  Posse is being played a lot on StarzEncore/Western now.  I like it, Tough Guys and Cast A Giant Shadow.  He was also good in others I like, but these seemed to be more "entertaining."  The War Wagon is nice and I think he easily out performed John Wayne in it.

    out performed is one word.

So who is the man who shot Liberty Valance?

Is it Doniphon, the man who actually shot him but doesn't want anyone to know because of the manner in which he did it, or it is Lanse, the mythical killer by celebrated legend who "killed" him in an honourable manner?

to me that has never been a consideration with the film. I doan think Tom could care less if anyone knows how he takes out valance. I always felt his silence was his way of laughing at Hallie for not wanting him. maybe that's why he kept her charred room standing...so she could someday stare at it and remember the man who's heart she broke.
