does paramount have any idea how a CD audioplay with shatner reprising kirk in voice only would sell worldwide?
it would give them the answer to the question that should they ever have screwed around with the basics of what star trek was to begin with.

"thanks nip for all your splendid first generation trekker support."

-
at least with star wars there is still the involvement of George lucas whereas with star trek it is the hands of schtootzes who think they know more about it then the original fans like me.
paramount quite rottenly waited long enough for shatner to be too old to play kirk again on screen which was a cruddy thing to do and they continue to politically correcticize what pathetically is left of it's legacy.

today's movie titles really suck because you can't figure out what the bleep they mean?
Ford vs Ferrari what the hell is that? these Hollywood liberals tell themselves they're bleeping geniuses right after they think up a title.
a good film title should at least tell the public what the film is about.

my dad loved ramblers. it was his favorite car. once he bought for 300 dollars in a used car lot a white rambler station wagon.
to him the rambler was the everyman car.

I rewatched Wrath of Khan recently, and the communicators looked clunkier and more primitive. It was amusing.

I quite agree. they've been messing around with the futuristic brilliance of star trek since they screwed up with ST-TMP in '79.
I'll take the old school chirpy communicator any day.

agar didn't really like the dramatic approach alotta the sci-fi stuff he starred in but at the same time if these films brought enjoyment to people that was the important thing.
john agar was a-ok and I'm sure he was sorry for how he treated Shirley sometimes.
-
I think agar gets a raw deal sometimes. I think he was a good guy in those sci-fi b movies.
doan mess with the Agarster!

While he was a cad in The Apartment, he was great as Sheldrake. His daughter Kate was on one of the TCM cruises a few years back and did a talk about his life & career. He didn’t really want to do My Three Sons so he made that “demand” where he only worked two months a year in order to sign on and the producer agreed to it. He wanted time off to pursue other opportunities and not be tied down for nine months of the year. It worked out for him. He had eff you money at that point. (Although he was too decent to put it that way—those are my words, not his or his daughter.) He was down to earth and maybe a little frugal with his money, but he supported his extended family throughout his career.
I remember back in 1974 fred hosting a primetime retrospective on CBS about the 14 seasons of My Three Sons.

I don't like fred in his darker roles very much except maybe pushover because he is more of a poor naïve sap in that and I prefer his later westerns and most of his Disney fare.

-
I saw sots back in the 80s at a local theater with my brother. it's a harmless children's film and nothing more so by demonizing it so that anybody can never see it the left including current Disney guarantees that many people will never find out how truly full of bleep they are and the great hysterical lie they have sold to the public about such a quaint little film.

so he wanted to spend more time on his ranch with wife june havoc, nevertheless, his western persona is at least as good as audie murphy or Randolph scott.
there are so many great scenes with fred in his westerns like good day for a hanging. his fiancé sours on him because he wants to hang Robert Vaughn so here he is telling her son that even though there would be no marriage as far as ben cutler is concerned he already thinks of the boy has his son. few actors coulda pulled off such scenes with the sincerity of Fred MacMurray.
a great, great actor.
"thanks, nip."

-
it has been said that Fred MacMurray never gave a bad performance in anything he did and he did it without a single acting lesson.
he woulda been an excellent choice to star in Shane.

Would Bela Lugosi's Career Have Been Different if He Played the Monster in Frankenstein?

I thought he was reasonably effective at his one turn as the monster in Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man.
