  1. my favorite part of Ghost of Frankenstein is when the irate villagers rush to blow up castle Frankenstein....

and there's ole ygor a laughing and a guffawing down at them and having a high ole time as he sends a few lose blocks down their way.

    ygor was never happier.

  2. they was runnin' doris' last movie with six you get eggroll on movies! yesterday and I try to like it but it stinks.

doris and brian keith are nice together but the lame attempts at slapstick comedy really try one's patience.

yours, mine and ours with hank fonda and Lucille ball is much, much better.

I'm wondering why doris never did any films for Walt Disney.

    she woulda been a natural.

  3. the mod squad theme is one of the most kickass themes in the history of TV and needs a reprise.

it was the best part of the show for me.

I remember in the 4th grade some girls in the classroom were talking about the show and I loved it how one of the girls mispronounced the title...

    the mid squid

  4. I think the later cgi ring they added to the destruction of the death star was a big mistake and they should just have left the original death star's explosion alone...and I didn't know that tcm was gonna show star wars.

that first one may by far be the best because starting with TESB they started adding all the pseudo-religious force BS.

OK, with the death of Doris Day, "Young Man with a Horn" (1950) can no longer be considered the oldest film with its leading (adult) members of the cast still alive. So what film takes its place? What is the oldest film with its two leading cast members still alive? This would need to be a film where the leads were playing adult roles at the time. Off topic, I know, but I was just wondering.

    kirk douglas is still alive.

  6. my favorite tim Conway moment from the carol burnett show is when ed drags Eunice and mama over to mickey's apartment to celebrate his five years working for ed at the hardware store...

so he goes out to get the Chinese food takeout...

he comes back and when sitting at the table turns to mama (whom he starts calling Thelma) and lets out with...

"I HOPE YOU LIKE CHINESE FOOD, THELMA!"

    what a priceless moment.

  7. I don't understand why Tim Conway was never afforded the opportunity to reprise one of the funniest recurring characters in american variety show history...

mickey hart! whenever Conway did mickey he owned that show!...and I think carol burnett knew it.

first there is the CBS primetime special 'Eunice' which eventually led to the syndicated sitcom 'mama's family' with one person conspicuously missing: the incomparable Tim Conway as mickey hart...

    now...

either Conway was not interested in reprising the character or he was locked out!...which is it?

if he was not interested than I'm all wrong about carol burnett but...

if I'm right I think it stinks that the great tim Conway was never allowed to play such a hilarious character again.

and of course his slow old man character was priceless.

This film is currently on Starz streaming, like QUANTEZ. So I think we can assume with Nip's recent threads, he is a Starz subscriber.

starz is pay cable and I was through with that a long time ago. my system lumps all these free movies together alphabetically and by network or channel. I just go through all the free movies alphabetically until I see something I wanna watch.

    :)
