  4. Well, what I enjoy most is drama of the film. It's well filmed drama, imo. The pacing is good. Alien is well filmed and well-paced drama. I don't know more how to describe it. If someone appreciates well filmed dramas, than I think they should check out Them!
  5. Yes, it takes you to the newest post you haven't read. Indeed it does. But, that's where the 'fun' begins, because IN ALL OTHER MESSAGE BOARDS I FREQUENT, you would then scroll DOWN, to read all of the posts you haven't yet read. And if there were more unread posts, you would go to the next 'page' of messages, in sequential order (From Page 3 to Page 4, etc.). But here, you would start at the last unread message, and scroll UP. And then, if there was another page of unread messages, that would take you to "Page 1". where I assume you would be required to scroll to the bottom of the 'page',
  6. I have always enjoyed this great Science-Fiction drama. It's coming out on Blu-ray October 6, 2015. http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/16456/Them/
  7. When I go to any of the many forums that I visit, I always want to see the latest post ---- from the point where I last posted, or last read up to. If I am going to a new thread, then, since I haven't read any of the posts, then the logical place to begin would be at the oldest post. But, by default, as it is with this board, to start reading backwards from the newest post to the oldest post is not rational. One post leads to another, so why you like to swin 'upstream' is only known to you. Most members here are not 'salmon'. Most members here prefer to swim with the current, w
  8. The 2014 remastered Eric Serra soundtrack to 1994's Leon: The Professional I checked Amazon first, and then decided to order it from Import CDs. It really sounded good on YT, so I expect the CD to be wonderful!

  11. Yes, I am aware of that, in fact, I think that "Airplane!" should be sold as a double feature disc with "Zero Hour!" over "Airport" any day !!! I actually laugh more watching "Zero Hour!", than I do watching "Airplane!"...
  12. Besides Dean Martin's part, the best thing about Airport is any visual that connects to any satire used by Airplane!
  13. I'd like to have a Star Trek phaser as used in the original TV series. I once wrote William Shatner in 1969, and asked him if there was one lying around, to send me one. Apparently there wasn't one lying around for him to send me.....
  14. I'm not normally a big Mariah Carey listener/fan, but I heard "O Holy Night" playing at the Post Office the other day, and I was impressed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMkRMiO8FIU
  15. I turned on the heater for the first time since last winter, last Thursday night.
  16. I don't have anything to say about the story line, but.... I did not like the "use" of color in the film. I would have preferred to see the story in black & white.
  17. Which is why, what we really need in America, more than Universal Health Care, is Universal Legal Care. In fact, many health problems arise from issues that could have been solved through legal means, but weren't, if only the money to pursue it could have been had.
  18. Buying a home for the first time, I just took what was offered, and made a rookie mistake by going with a homeowner's association. Once, I had to get my father to co-sign so I could move into an apartment. That was meant to keep the riff-raff out, because I did not make enough for their taste. But, in reality, I saw many neighbors in that apartment complex, that made less than me, and they were the riff-raff--- they just happened to be shacking up with another person, so their low wages together, made them acceptable to the landlord's leasing standards. But, back to AC solutions, when
  19. My central AC went out several years ago when it was 106. I had fans running in every room and several more in the kitchen. A small window unit would have been great, but that is forbidden by the Homeowner's Association. After a week without AC, I finally got the new outdoor fan motor replaced on the unit. NEVER willingly live under a Homeowner's Association Covenant, unless you are have the wherewithal to repair whatever goes out on the spot.
