  1. Hey, apologies again, This time for the above post. It seems that when I’m posting on my phone, Sometimes it *won’t* clear a previous message I have written, in this case my response to Princess of Tap so I just have to post the blank quote.
  2. 🎶"I'm not well, SEE the movie is flopping/Shoulda been swell, but the movie is flopping! An Oscar? LIKE HELL! 'cause the movie is flopping/Won't even break even, 'cause the movie is flopping... And don't tell STEPHEN, but the MOVIE IS FLOPPING TODAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!"🎶🎶🎶🎶
  3. OH ****. I apologize. I thought I was posting the above clip in THE SONDHEIM OBIT thread. I'll still leave it cause its fun though.
  4. I don't know, but I'd like to, and if anyone reading knows why RICHARD BEYMER'S CAREER WENT "PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT!!!" after WEST SIDE STORY, please so fill us in. Within three years of starring in the best picture winner, he was doing guest roles on TV, by the 1980's he was in stuff like SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT 3 I know the surviving cast of WEST SIDE STORY- CHAKIRIS/MORENO/TAMBLYN have kinda ostracized him, he didn't go to the reunion (or wasn't invited) and NATALIE WOOD hated him and treated him like **** while filming, but apparently that had to do with her being peeved they didn't hire WARREN BEATTY for the main part. I think he is the one big problem with WEST SIDE STORY, he is miscast and not particularly engaging.
  5. "The Nancy Reagan Chandelier!" also got a good laugh, no small feat seeing as how it comes around the 50 minute mark (we were all worn down to nubs by then.)
  6. And BURTON wanted it to be even more horrific, with the farmer being run over by the flaming herd of cows!
  7. i saw it in the theaters opening weekend and I still recall the STRONG SENSE OF DISCOMFIT IN THE ROOM that started 5 minutes in...and lingered until the end. man, it laid an egg.
  8. The male lead in the 2021 version (ANSEL ELGHORT sp?)) must be PRAYING TO THE GODS he doesn't take the same path as RICHARD BEYMER....(who was at least in a successful version)
  9. YES THATS IT! I will give it a second try this evening and hopefully my Netflix will cooperate this time.
  10. imagine if this thing manages to linger in theaters til January (as the original article suggests has been arranged)? Litters of possums and raccoons might move in.
  11. ALSO not a period piece. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, but it looks like this version is also set ca. 1961/the late fifties. That brings nothing new as well.
  12. ALSO IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A DESERTED LOCATION TO EXCHANGE A HOSTAGE OR MAKE A BRIEFCASE DROPOFF....
  13. also, debateably, MARS ATTACKS!! (although one could blame MARS ATTACKS!! for the failure of MARS ATTACKS!!)
  14. Not to be Pedantic, but don't you mean "disc"? (Seriously solid burn though.)
  15. Back in 1982, STEVEN SPIELBERG played a prototype of THE ET GAME FOR ATARI and gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up that led the company to go full steam ahead with its Christmas release. 40 years later it's good to see HE'S STILL UP TO THE SAME ****.
  16. I was superbored last night and cruising NETFLIX when I came across a recent documentary about the failure of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG ca. 1981, but every time I tried to play it, NETFLIX crashed and I went back to my home screen. NETFLIX knows I've been talking smack about it. (whatever, they deserve it)
