He must have played GEORGE C. SCOTT and TRISH VAN DEVERE's son at the beginning of THE SAVAGE IS LOOSE (1974) a film I saw once, but remember the climax too well.  Now THAT is a "once is enough" movie if I've ever seen one.

yeah, i read about that movie, it sounds awful!

"Meh" pretty much sums up every Keanu Reeves character to date I believe.

I would not describe his performance in BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA as "meh."

I could use many many many combinations of words to describe it, but "meh" is not one, nor is "unmemorable."

  3. I THINK what they were maybe (?) going for with HALLOWEEN III SEASON OF THE WITCH was to capture something of the essence of those childhood playground/ campfire horror stories which are audacious and illogical, but so amusingly cobbled together from the rawest fears of childhood  that, you know, there's just something there that burrows into our minds about it and stays.....

and it plows forward, relentlessly, flying in the face of the many many many many questions from the audience

    "what about the different timezones?"

"how is it NO OTHER KIDS ANYWHERE IN AMERICA or their parents in the days leading up to Halloween took apart the SILVER SHAMROCK SEAL on the back of the mask and also got FACEFRIED like Marge?"

"(every?) kids across America was okay with one of THREE options for a mask???"

"how the **** EXACTLY does one remove one of the pillars from STONEHENGE and ship to it California with NO ONE NOTICING????? FedEx? UPS? A ***ton of postage stamps, what?"

HALLOWEEN III hears your questions, it just doesn't care.

I eagerly saw Halloween III: Season of We're Going to Take a Big Old **** on All Your Hopes and Dreams, Turning You Into a Cynic for Life and a Bitter, Bitter Old Man on the day it was released.  When it was over I sat in stunned silence.  My extra large Coca-Cola having long since gone flat and watery from the melted ice.  The Jujube's still stuck to the inner walls of their container for all eternity.  The butter-like substance on the popcorn soaking through it's tub leaving an indelible greasy stain on my blue jeans much like the Sharpie that had just permanently marked my psyche like a biker bar bathroom stall door.

Universal Studios owes me $7.59 and 98 minutes.

Should I ever happen to be on elevators with producers Debra Hill, John Carpenter, director Tommy Lee Wallace, or actor Tommy Lee Jones just because his name is close enough, I will press the button for every floor in the building, pass the most noxious gas imaginable and watch them go through the same wretchedness they foisted upon me those many years ago.

    I 100% understand.

I took the opposite route and opted to settle into a STOCKHOLM SYNDROME with HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH...

......A film which I may or may not have just ordered on WIDESCREEN DVD from amazon

... and in the time we get the looking up shot... why not run away...?  Talk about standing under a "brick wall" ...

and also, why not run into the house to start with since that's where his mom is? [ or better yet, THE HELL out of there in general?]

IT IS WHAT IT IS, and that's what makes it a unique ending. (DAN CURTIS , like ED WOOD, did not spend a lot of time asking questions, he just pointed and shot)

i will note that the child actor who plays the part, LEE MONTGOMERY, grew up to be GORGEOUS:

Yeah, she was married to Ad-Rock, my favorite Beastie. ... [I] Liked her in Gas, Food, Lodging. and of course she will always be Diane Court for most teenagers of the the 80's and 90s from Say Anything.

    apparently the Autocensor didn't.

Seriously, I thought I knew most all of the dirty words out there, in what language is "I o n e" the equivalent of "the c-word"?

Ha, this it funny.  Speaking of **** Skye, i always wished she was in more films.  I unfortunately hear more about her private life than her film career.

I can't remember Glover in the Friday the 13th film.  Haven't watched any of those films since i was a young teenager.

I think she was briefly married one of THE BEASTIE BOYS.

Seriously, what the Hell is so offensive about the name " I O N E "????

is it a DIRTY ACRONYM I don't know about???????

I like it for the people involved, but it is kind of a weak film. An 80's film featuring **** Skye, the weird guy from Back to the Future, and Reeves is always going to grab my attention.  I know its a serious film, but there's a few moments in it which i find the acting to be absolutely hilarious and i know a few people who quote this film quite often.  I think this is peak Crispin Glover.

For me, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART IV is PEAK CRISPIN GLOVER, "HEY TED! WHERE'S THE CORKSCREW???" but I get you.

GOD, KEANU REEVES was stunning back then.

wonder why the autocensor bleeps out the name "I O N E"?????

Y'mean ever'body not having happy end?

    SPOILERS

i mean, A LOT of directors would've ended the movie with a tight shot of KAREN BLACK'S ICE BLUE EYES WHEN FIRST WE SEE WHAT HAS HAPPENED, but CURTIS "goes there" and gives us that windshield shot, and then everything with the kid that follows.

    Definitely has not aged well.

    THANK YOU!

In viewing it, I felt like one of the dispassionate "teenagers" (a couple of those actors looked 30) looking at that poor dead naked girl.

    Just "meh."

  11. ALSO ALSO,

I despised the choice of HALLOWEEN 2018 to negate all the films that came after 1978, because honestly, it kind of halved LAURIE'S experience to where I know more than one viewer was like, "girl, get over it. It was one night and you made it" as opposed to "your bother spent 48 hours trying to kill you and murdered 20 people doing so, yeah, I see where that would mess you up to where you would let that happen to your hair and also invest in a robotic kitchen island that hides an underground panic room 40 years later."

  12. I can see her point, but honestly, one of the things I have found MOST GRATING in the repeated sequels has been their focus on how traumatic all this has been for the survivors, not that they don't have a point, but it's like going through the PETER PARKER ORIGIN STORY every damn time they redo SPIDERMAN, ALL i CAN THINK IT, "WE;RE DOING THIS AGAIN????!!!!"

Yeah, you can put that on me. I struggled with using the term "central character", whcih was my own thought, but I put it in there anyway, not coming up with anything better.  I don't remember her exact words. Maybe I should have said she was the star or the highest-biled performer.

    no problem.

an article on a website recently called out JAMIE LEE CURTIS for her repeated comments during the promotion of HALLOWEEN KILLS with an emphasis being about how the film was all about trauma...(trying to tie it into real world politics and negating all the people who are there to see splatter, and sort of piggybacking on real world anguish)

Burnt Offerings is on tonight anyway at 10:00 EST. Boy, I sure wish somebody would show The Shuttered Room with Oliver Reed.

i recall you as being a fan of NIGHT MONSTER (1942), so for you or anyone who is interested, PEACOCK (which is the NBC/UNIVERSAL STREAMING SERVICE which I have strictly because they show good horror movies in October and all the JAWS films in the summer) is showing THE MOST UNCANNILY CLEAR AND PRISTINE PRINT  I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Maybe it's that it's in HD, but HOLY ****, I have NEVER SEEN a PRINT this good looking of any film from the 1940s...it is absolutely WILD to watch, while I'm not a fan of the film, but, it's literally looks like it was shot yesterday.

    just wild.

ps- i was not even high at the time!
