One thing about THE HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE, EricJ, is that you can pick which version you want to watch. I think there's 4 versions extant.

You've got a get a haircut eventually, Lorna. May as well do it more sooner than later. I got a haircut 2 weeks ago because it was starting to aggravate me. I'm glad I have a full head of hair, but I didn't want to let it grow too long. -

Who's the bird, speedracer? I like birds. I have a cockatiel at present. He's getting a lil' older at 18½ and showing some signs of age. However, considering I found him in a grocery store parking lot on Sept. 14, 2001 (I wrote the date down so I wouldn't forget when I acquired SWEET PEA) I'm just glad he's still around. Sometimes I call him a Shakespearean Pea: SWEETETH PEA-ETH. I'd recommend PET SEMATARY by Stephen King. Aside from Fred Gwynne as 'Jud Crandall' the movie that came out in '89 was pretty dire. The book was better! And it's not insanely long. My 2¢ worth.

Looking at those clips from THE LITTLE MERMAID reminds me of that one character who HAD to be based on the appearance of Harris Glenn Milstead, otherwise known as "Divine", who was creeping up the ladder of mainstream success before he died in March 1988 at age 42. I haven't seen THE LITTLE MERMAID in years, but I remember when I saw the movie and the animated character Ursula voiced by Pat Carroll I thought of DIVINE immediately.- 269 replies

Maybe Hallmark can do a 'hybrid movie' featuring elements of MURDER, SHE WROTE and a Christmas presentation. Some unfortunate cast member (i.e. 'the victim') gets a strand of cheery, blinking Xmas lights stuck in their guts and Jessica Fletcher has to find out who did the dastardly deed and why! Could be fun. OR NOT. -
QUESTION SEEKING UNIVERSAL TRUTH: How can one be a "waffler" when one buys pancake mix from the Supermarket? I don't understand it . . . ? Maybe someone can enlighten me?

I object to the treatment of rubber chickens and rubber duckies in "serious" movies. Movies like "I LIVE ON THE CORNER OF A CIRCULAR STREET" don't need any slimy slugs abusing rubber critters! 'Nuff said.

I guess I'm toast then. I'm a white guy with an old car who looks like a tax inspector.
