SOMETHING IS CREEPING IN THE DARK (1970-Italian) Farley Granger, Lucia Bosé, Giacomo Rossi Stuart
(Italian title: "Qualcosa striscia nel buio")
Seems like the whole movie takes place in a long thunderstorm! It's creepy!
Next: A movie so bad you'd ♥ to burn the negative!

THIRD DAY, The (1965) George Peppard can't remember!
Next: A movie with plenty of fog!

CONNIE CONVERSE seems to have converted you to a fan, Allhallowsday!
I've been listening to various country songs by SUSIE ALLANSON. "WORDS" (yes, the BeeGees song) and "WE BELONG TOGETHER" along with THE COWGIRL AND THE DANDY and ME AND CHARLIE BROWN.
Susie seems to have long-since retired from singing.
She really BELTS out "Words".

I ordered a Jack Lemmon 'Western' yesterday from Amazon. COWBOY (1958) also starring Glenn Ford. I can't think of any other western movies Jack Lemmon featured in . . .

I remember watching JACOB'S LADDER. Once. A waste of time. Same with WISDOM (1986). I saw that in the theater at the ripe old age of 13. I've not bothered to re-visit it since.
A BIG HAND FOR THE LITTLE LADY (1966-Western) genuinely surprised me with its ending.

That was the *exact* movie I was thinking of, TB.

Carnival, eh?
How 'bout NIGHTMARE ALLEY (1947).
next: A western painted in shades of gray -- rather than the entirely Good Guys versus the totally awful Bad Guys.

I think TALIA SHIRE says that in WINDOWS (1980) as a kind of therapy to stop stuttering. BABY BUGGY BUMPERS!
I remember Carey Grant (sic) in SOME LIKE IT HOT. He played the part of the Middle Eastern Sheik/sultan who tries to buy Marilyn Monroe for his harem. Instead, he gets a bugle shoved up his left nostril.

'Twas a sad scene indeed for poor Carey (sic). It's one I'm not likely to ever forget.

So watching EYE OF THE CAT (1969-Universal) or THE UNCANNY (1977) is out of the question then?

I remember the first time I saw DESPERATE CHARACTERS (1971). It was on Ch. 2, the PBS station out of Miami, late at night. Let's say 1 AM on a Saturday night. I lived in West Palm Beach and could pick it up. I liked it well enough. Years later I bought a copy when it came out on homevideo. Also by Paramount. Suburban alienation was the theme. And even the seemingly harmless 'good country folk' could've been thuggish thieves. Also starred Kenneth Mars as Shirley's husband.
Then came THE POSSESSION OF JOEL DELANEY and some 5 years off of making films.
Someone else who took over 4 years off from making films and returned successfully: AL PACINO. After the flop of REVOLUTION (1985) he didn't return to film until SEA OF LOVE (1989).
Except for the one scene at the end I like JOEL DELANEY. It holds up well in the 'weird' department, although I don't subscribe to the goofballs on the IMDb who rated it 10/10 in their 'User Comments'. I'd give it a '7'. "A challenging masterpiece" was one review. Horse Sh!t. A young man gets possessed by the spirit of his evil, dead friend. What's 'challenging' about that? That's not a unique plot device. It's what's done with it that's so offbeat.
THE EXORCIST has been copied and parodied so many times I think it's lost some of its effectiveness. I'd rather watch MAGDALENA, POSSESSED BY THE DEVIL (aka: "Magdalena, vom Teufel Besessen"), the 1974 West German rip-off. Some parts of it are hilarious. Like where Magdalena tells the local Priest to stick the Communion wafer . . . Magdalena also vomits up a snake just for the Hell of it (wasn't that good line?).
(Cos, ya know, like she's all PO-ZESSED and stuff . . . ).
LYLAH CLARE never had a VHS release or I'd have bought it. THE OSCAR (1966) did. On 'Embassy Home Entertainment' in the mid-1980s.
Speaking of STEPHEN BOYD . . . a movie that recently came out on Blu-Ray that had been OOP on VHS for years was THE CAPER OF THE GOLDEN BULLS (1967). Leonard Maltin & Co. gave it a 'BOMB'. Charter Entertainment had released it on tape circa 1987 and it hadn't been re-released since until very recently. I'm hoping the Blu-Ray release will inspire some folks who still have the tape to put it up for sale at a low price. I don't have a Blu-Ray player and buying one is not on my viewfinder. A VHS deck and a DVD deck are as far as I'm going to go.

YAQUI DRUMS (1956) (Guess what . . . it's a 'Western'!)

I go to YouTube and look up various 'ambience' uploads to endeavor to relax. Must be a thousand or more 'ambiences' there to choose from.
Campfire night sounds, Ocean storm sounds, Windy winter blizzard sounds, Rain sounds and distant train sounds, et cetera. Just LOADS to pick from for your listening pleasure.
I really like these two from 'Autumn Cozy' that each run an hour: PUMPKIN PATCH AMBIENCE -and- AUTUMN FARM AMBIENCE.
