  1. I get 20 emoticons to pick from, Hallows, when I click on the 'Smiley Face' when composing a post. That's it. Maybe I'm not using the best kind of browser! Internet Explorer seems to have gone out of favor. I reckon one day I'll go to 'Mozilla' or 'Chrome'. When I go to YouTube I get the ♦same♦ message every time at the top of the screen: "We'll stop supporting this browser soon. For the best experience please update your browser." The part I underlined is underlined in the YouTube message. It's a direct quote. I guess YT is trying to tell me something!
  2. There's no skull for me to select on the list of emoticons that come up on my computer. That's why I was curious as to how to 'make' a skull emoji come up. Must be some way to do it that I'm missing. Oh well . . .
  3. Sepiatone: How do you get that skull image?
  4. Deborah Kerr in '69: GYPSY MOTHS, The ARRANGEMENT, The
  5. This is the 'Unconvincing Romantic Couples' Double-Feature: APRIL IN PARIS (1952) Doris is likeable. Ray is likeable. But they seriously don't match as a couple! IT STARTED IN NAPLES (1960) I think Sophia and Clark try, but it's just not convincing they'd be a romantic couple. (And, as a sidenote, The Wedding Planner features zero chemistry between JLo and Matt "The Lincoln Man").
  6. GREEN FOR DANGER (1946-UK) GREEN DOLPHIN STREET (1947) So you thought you could out-green me, eh? Think Again!
  7. Pier pressure? Ok. I'll bite! JAWS (1975) next: A movie you remember well even though you didn't like it!
  8. Here's another movie in which there may not be a complete/un-cut print extant: NIGHT OF THE WITCHES (1970). I've seen a Tv print, but the movie is rated [R] and there's nothing R-rated on the television print. There is a scene where the Preacher starts to spy on a couple of girls at a makeup table who seem to be angling to change their tops. That is likely a continued scene in the un-cut version that had to be cut short for Tv! Only runs 75 minutes at its full-length.
  9. Charlton Heston is the Po-Leece! The Fuzz! (Heston's 'The Man' and he's bringing The Heat! And, man, is it groovy!) Ya dig? TWO-MINUTE WARNING (1976) Next: SOYLENT GREEN (1973)
  10. I reckon for the sake of completeness I will type out the Leonard Maltin review from the CLASSIC MOVIE GUIDE: THIRD EDITION. FOREVER FEMALE (1953) 93m. Stars awarded: ** out of **** "Slick but hollow tale of Broadway show people: cynical producer Douglas (who has all the best lines), his glamourous leading lady and ex-wife Rogers, newly minted playwright Holden, and frightfully ambitious young actress Crowley (featured here in a bid for movie stardom). Julius J. and Philip G. Epstein based their screenplay on James M. Barrie's play Rosalind. Best thing about the film is the elaborate set re-creating Sardi's Restaurant." Who knows what review will show up if there's a CLASSIC MOVIE GUIDE: FOURTH EDITION!
  11. In regards to NORTH TO ALASKA (1960) I watched it for the first time about a month ago. It's rather a wild Wayne movie. He's rather animated in this one! Ably supported as well by a good cast of familiar faces. I think Joel McCrea appeared in one more movie called MUSTANG COUNTRY in 1975 or '76. I can't think of any other Randolph Scott movie appearances after 'High Country'.
  12. WHITE NIGHTS (1985) RED HEAT (1988) Russia, Russia, Russia! Comrade, let us drink vodka together!
  13. HOT ROCK, The (1972) Redford and Segal bungle their way to happiness! next: A movie where a famous actor or actress plays against type . . . but it doesn't work out well in the "convincing performance" department on the screen. (But, hey, they tried!).
  14. JOEL McCREA and RANDOLPH SCOTT, it seems to me, appeared in far more Westerns than any other genre. Without actually going to the IMDb and looking up their filmography I think of Joel McCrea as starring in "Foreign Correspondent" and then Westerns. And Randolph Scott in "Captain Kidd" and more Westerns. And McCrea and Scott in RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY which is . . . wait for it . . . A WESTERN!
  15. I think Maltin's staff -- whom he names at the beginning of each of his review Guides -- wrote the majority of the reviews in his books. I reckon Maltin wrote some of them . . . but which ones? Who knows. Anyway, on the front cover of the 1990 Edition it says: "FEATURING A TOTAL OF 18,500 FILMS, INCLUDING OVER 500 NEW ENTRIES" (and then it says "MORE THAN 7,000 VIDEOCASSETTE LISTINGS").
  16. There's something very odd in regards to Leonard Maltin's review/reviews of FOREVER FEMALE (1953). In the 1990 and 1997 Leonard Maltin Guides I noted the 3½-star review out of 4 possible stars is there. However, in the "Leonard Maltin Classic Movie Guide: THIRD EDITION" the review for "Forever Female" is completely rewritten and offers up only 2 stars out of 4. Weird that Maltin's review changed that much.
  17. JOHN WAYNE made a lot of ♦very watchable♦ pictures even if they weren't great Cinema Art. He was on-screen continuously for 46 years -- we'll start with his starring role in THE BIG TRAIL (1930 and end with THE SHOOTIST (1976). Even after "The Big Trail" didn't do so well at the box office Wayne began starring in scores of "B"-Westerns until STAGECOACH was a hit in '39.
  18. MURDER AT THE VANITIES (1934) WONDER BAR (1934) SEARCH FOR BEAUTY (1934) Three racy Pre-Code pictures to remind you the direction Hollywood was going before Code enforcement began in earnest!
  19. HESTER STREET (1975) next: LIES MY FATHER TOLD ME (1975-Canadian)
  20. @NipkowDisc: You ask why MARSHALL THOMPSON would appear in CRUISE INTO TERROR yet fail to inquire why he would appear in the 1978 movie BOG that was so bad it wasn't released until 1983? I say it was THE MONEY! → Even a small paycheck is better than no paycheck! I suggest you watch the filmed-in-Wisconsin opus 'BOG' and compare it to "Cruise Into Terror". You can watch Marshall and the Gang (Aldo Ray, Leo Gordon, Gloria DeHaven) take on the swamp monster BOG in [PG]-rated fashion. And, hey, Miss DeHaven has a dual role. @Fedya: I think you're spot on about ORDEAL being a remake of INFERNO.
