Today at about 1:45pm EST we saw a wonderful One Reel Wonder "Good Morning, Eve!" with Leon Errol.
First off, I thought the Roman numeral on the Title said "1934", but I couldn't believe my eyes or ears; this movie was in beautiful color! Did a little googling afterward and found GME was a very early example of a process called "3-strip technicolor", maybe ? the second one ever made commercially. I read that audiences of the day "sighed" at the beautiful color!
What was unbelievable was the anachronism of seeing hairstyles and fresh, slightly double-entendre dialogue that didn't really go wtth the 1939-style color we were watching!
As to the subject matter, I usually couldn't care less about musicals, and that's what this is, but these numbers just seemed so fresh and made us smile a lot. The girls were really beautiful! Hope they got to see themselves.
We really want to see this again. Wondering whether the management would kindly show it again, and warn us in advance, or let me know if a VHS or DVD can be obtained anywhere. I just tried this site's "request a movie", but I'm not sure it "took" when I submitted it, so I came here in hopes that this forum is monitored. Thanks in advance for your help!
