  1. Absurd? Dana Andrews thought it was absurd and didn't want to do it. Faye insisted on getting Andrews.
  2. Actually, Faye did not have a big career as a recording artist (unfortunately) and did not record after 1937. So-called genius Zanuck did not permit his stars to record commercially because he thought people wouldn't come to see the movies if they could hear them at home. Apparently he had never heard of Bing Crosby.
  3. Yes, you are right. I would like to know who censored it and when. It was probably shown uncensored for the original release. You can find the uncensored version of "Looking for Trouble" on youtube. There are closeups and about a minute of missing footage.
  4. They have shown plenty of Tyrone Power, Shirley Temple, and others.
  5. So after 25 years the geniuses at TCM are finally featuring Alice Faye, one of the most talented and popular stars of her era.
