I may be the only one but I must admit I have been looking forward to Jean Muir Day!
I may be the only one, but I had never heard of Jean Muir before. After checking her credits, I see that I have, in fact, seen her in a couple of films, but if you had asked me, I would have said I hadn't.
I'm glad there are still stars to discover, occasionally.

THE NORTH STAR (1943) - 7:30 A.M. EST - This pro-Russia WW2 movie is worth checking out. Good cast.
HEARTS AND MINDS (1975) - 10:15 P.M. EST - I'll be taping this Vietnam documentary that I've somehow missed over the years.

Stephan, look for a thread in General Discussions entitled Johann W. Rush. That's Fred. You'll have to scroll down a bit thanks to Spamalot.

my top films for 1930-2015
1. Citizen Kane (1941)
CITIZEN KANE?!? What kind of person picks CITIZEN KANE as the greatest movie of all time?!?
Just kidding...it's one of the "Big 3". Growing up and reading about film and film history and criticism, it seemed that all of the writers always picked one of the same three films as the best of all time:
CITIZEN KANE
GONE WITH THE WIND
CASABLANCA
In the last decade or so, GONE WITH THE WIND has virtually disappeared from those lists, and THE GODFATHER seems to have taken its place.

TopBilled, I've got some watching to do! I haven't seen 4 of your all-timers! I may break my watching schedule and go ahead and watch Soldier Blue before it disappears from Amazon Prime.
Edit: About Mrs. Leslie is available on Prime too.

Strong choices, Larry. When I post mine (in a moment), I am just going to pick my top choices for each decade and list them in order.
Good idea! I may do that, too, as a supplement.

When at other's houses, I've noticed their local news comes in "stretched" and no amount of changing the TVs aspect ratio will correct it, even trying the "standard" (square) TV mode. The station broadcasts "wide" but the TV "wide" setting stretches them worse!
For me, it's just another reason to hate cable.
I was having some issues like this recently. I have Comcast cable with an HD DVR cable box. I started getting a number of channels with improper, stretched images, and no adjustment of the either the television nor the box using the remote helped. However, there are a few small buttons on the front of the cable box that activate a separate, unique menu of options that allowed me to fix the issues. Another annoyance was that the necessary adjustments had to made on each individual problem channel.

I vaguely recall something like this. The film's main character goes to a clandestine meeting in a church. He's kneeling in mock prayer in the church pews, next to his contact. They have a whispered conversation before a gunman up above them shoots the contact. Our hero chases the gunman...and that's all I recall. The names the OP mentioned sound right, but looking over their filmographies didn't ring any bells. Time period was very late 60's to mid 70's, I think.

I want to mention another rock death. This one never really branched off into acting, so I won't give him his own thread.
Paul Kantner, guitarist, singer and songwriter from Jefferson Airplane. He played on their biggest hits "Somebody to Love", "Today" and "White Rabbit", and can be seen performing in the great concert documentary Woodstock (1970).
He was 74.
