  1. BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID Next: French Riviera
  2. Yes, I like her too. She also made an impression as Ava Gardner in THE RAT PACK, and in THE GAME.
  3. Comet isn't available in my market, either. Nipkow and CaveGirl, where are you two located? I don't need your address, just a state or region of the country would be nice. And how are you seeing it? Cable, dish, direct tv, digital antenna, etc.
  4. TopBilled, several I haven't seen: A BOY CALLED DAD A CHRISTMAS CAROL AMELIA ANTICHRIST THE CAKE EATERS COCO BEFORE CHANEL THE DAMNED UNITED THAT EVENING SUN
  5. 2009 - 278 films seen 1. Inglourious Basterds 2. The Hurt Locker 3. Watchmen 4. A Serious Man 5. Black Dynamite 6. Moon 7. The Road 8. Zombieland 9. In the Loop 10. District 9 Runner-ups: Red Riding Trilogy, The Messenger, Observe & Report, The White Ribbon, and An Education. Uncle Bingo's Kartoon Korner: 9 & Up Larry's Choice: Enter the Void - This one isn't much like my other Choices. A hallucinatory, gimmicky mindtrip that I recommend seeing at least once.
  6. Here are the 1001 Movies to See Before You Die entries for 2008: Anvil! The Story of Anvil The Class** The Curious Case of Benjamin Button The Dark Knight Gomorrah The Good, the Bad, and the Weird** The Hurt Locker Let the Right One In Slumdog Millionaire WALL-E The Wrestler
  7. In what film do 2 men seek the rare Tibetan mariphasa plant to use as an antidote?
  8. Howard Cosell played himself in BANANAS with Woody Allen.
  9. Arthur Kennedy was in LAWRENCE OF ARABIA with Jose Ferrer
  10. Cassiopeia - Sian Phillips in CLASH OF THE TITANS
  11. SansFin: Is that second one an anime? TopBilled, you named a few I haven't seen: THE CITY OF YOUR FINAL DESTINATION, LITTLE ASHES, SUMMER HOURS, and THE CLASS, although I have that last one to watch.
  12. I don't know...pretty sure Paul Muni, Luise Rainer, Rex Harrison, Lee J. Cobb, Katharine Hepburn, and Mickey Rooney are all Asian.
  13. Well, the Academy has no control over who gets cast in a film. And again, just like with black nominees, or most any ethnic subgroup, the real issue is opportunities in film, not in awards season. If more diverse people are making and starring in quality films, then the awards will follow. Chief Dan George was nominated for LITTLE BIG MAN in 1970. Which is one more than any Chinese- or Korean-American actor or actress.
