You'd also be drinking everyone else's used toxic, inorganic Big Pharma drugs. -

This is the way.

I got rid of the extended genre field. That didn't really seem necessary.

Actor Gavin MacLeod (1931-2021)
Movie Collector OH replied to MikaelaArsenault's topic in General Discussions
I used to watch The Love Boat in its first run in the 70s and maybe a bit in the early 80s. That was a memorable show. Not great writing, but it never pretended to be. It was all about meeting people and exploring, and we met plenty of stars. Back a ways, at an undisclosed point in time for the sake of these public message boards, I had cancer myself. I was scheduled for a life-saving operation. I stayed there the night before. I had my laptop and Netflix (in its infancy - using someone else's account) in the hospital. This was the first time I had ever tried it. What did I want to see? Out of the choices, it quickly became clear - I wanted to watch some old episodes of Love Boat to reminisce. That was very nice to have at the time. Anyhow these days I am doing well and will be watching some episodes on Pluto TV to remember. RIP, Captain (as I knew Gavin MacLeod) -
Hey Sepia, I sang his songs just fine. And I'm really more of a keyboardist/percussionist type, but this stuff is totally in my vocal range. His songs bring back memories from a bygone era. I have downloaded and will listen to some of the less known ones now to remember. RIP

You bring up a good point. Rather than the now traditional "mission creep", perhaps they are cognizant of this (you and I both know damn well they are), and this is them drawing a line and so forth... Anyway it seems like something a high level evil influencer would do.

Hmm most of that looks pretty sturdy, yet the red tube looks fragile, so a mechanical contradiction of sorts. Lemme guess - a "sight glass" so they can monitor their propulsion systems in real time? And how about those black and silver discs I see on the backs of those supporting members, harmonic balancers?? -
Oh fun, a new toy.... 😀

Bezos steps down in July, so as long as they can hold their crap together until then. It will be interesting to see what follows. "These are exciting times"

Nevermind, now I see it there. Hmmm...

Here's what I meant. This is still on the old site. If you refresh the window while on the new site, it still seems to default to the old site. I just didn't see the "box office" entries on the new site as of last night (I haven't looked yet today).
-
That's already come and gone. There was a time when I saw a link to "preview the new site" at the top on older browsers, though I don't think that link actually registered on my main Firefox browser, or I don't recall seeing it. So for a while I mistakenly thought I "was" looking at the new version of their site. Now that I have seen the new site, my first impression was that the page didn't finish loading correctly. So I clicked Reload. That of course defaulted back to the old page. I did that a few times before I realized what was happening.

Their new format kind of sucks. Luckily this doesn't affect my public project in any way, since it doesn't use it. My private database for my own collecting, on the other hand, scrapes it on an as-needed per-movie basis. And reassociating the different database elements for their new website format is a bear. I am almost done though. A few hours last night and a bit more tonight when I get the down time. I cannot seem to find any display elements on their new site for "budget", "opening weekend revenue", and "gross revenue". Maybe now they are putting that behind a paywall as well. (??)

I'll have to come up with another venn diagram and see where this takes me. Classic movies, classic movies that are great, classic movies that aren't great, non-classic movies that are great, non-classic movies that aren't great, classic movies that are great that aren't "woke" (and therefore must be wrapped up in viewer warnings), non-classic movies that aren't great yet have a "woke" moment (and are therefore now a hidden gem), etc. Unintentionally ridiculous.

It just is whatever it is. Somewhat "downstream" for the masses, if you ask me, and I have my theories on this. If/when the other comes up, I will post it.

July 2021- Elvis Presley SOTM

Hi, thanks for doing that. This is another data feed, it is used on their new website. This one appears to be "downstream" from the other - as in less detail. I make both available just in case. Sooner or later the other one should be ready and I'll let you know, so you can change the OP link. -

2nd, as far as I can tell. First here was July 2016.

Okay for a "drive-in" night. Hmm how about The Toxic Avenger (1984), Street Trash (1987), and Eat And Run (1987) in an "honor" to Pat Ryan. And finish it off with the classic short "One Got Fat". I jest...

"What's up with that?" How is this anything new? Just hang in there...
