  1. In case anyone is interested: Using Firefox browser, I clicked Print from the menu, and first it brings up the print dialog box. From that box there is a list of printers I can choose to print from. My printer is in there and selected, but there is also another choice which says "Print To File". I selected that option, filename to name it, and made sure PDF was selected. That was enough to generate that file. The file will be where you saved it. There may be a similar feature with other internet browsers.
  2. Hi Mr6666, maybe this is going to sound a bit creepy but I was pondering exactly the same thing, just about 5 mins after you posted. A new business model?
  3. I forget if I suggested saving it to a PDF file, and then printing from that PDF file. I have done the first part for you. See what happens with this: http://moviecollector.us/tmp/mozilla.pdf
  4. My printer is just an inexpensive Canon Pixma from Walmart. I got it because it is compatible with my operating system. I'd have to plug it in but I seem to recall it having at least two different B&W print settings. One includes half-tones and semi-tones, and the other blanks them out (perhaps useful for removing marks and smudges from scanned in documents??). Not sure, maybe yours thinks the lighter colored text is unwanted, and maybe that is something that can be disabled.
  5. I have most of it from the earliest years. I'll see if I can find anything.
  6. Don Was, of Was (Not Was), playing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Was
  7. Maybe try setting it to B&W? If that happened to work, it would also be cheaper.
  8. No, there is no way to change it from there. The TCM website's menu link for the current month can not be substituted to a different month by hand as we are talking about here, it is a single-ended URL that only works on the current month. A shortcoming of the website. [i think this alone is probably the answer you were looking for.] There is no such thing as a "changeable" monthly schedule. The monthly schedule has no menu or links to get to future months. You can only view the current month (ie. the month of August during the month of August) using the menus and links on their website. Due to a different URL format that future months use (which is nowhere to be found on their website), all future months need to be entered by hand (or copied and pasted in from a text document), exactly as shown. Yes. You would need to manually copy and paste it into your browser and then change it by hand like that every single time. I save mine to a text document on my computer, using a text editor, and change it from there. Not at all. I just wanted to make sure it all worked out for you. It seemed to be a simple misunderstanding, but I just didn't know where.
  9. Let's approach this from a different angle. Click on each of these links and look at the first three movies for each one. Notice each link brings up a different set of movies. August http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2017-08-01 September http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2017-09-01 October http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2017-10-01 November http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2017-11-01
  10. Hi, you're welcome. The premieres are in Mr. 6666's TCM Premieres thread. If you want you can click on the link below in my signature area for other things related to the scheduling.
  11. Does your dish have a clear line-of-sight? Are there trees in the way? There are diagnostics that the technician can look at, though not all may think to try. One of them shows the signal strengths of all the transponders on each satellite it receives. Probably more than you want to think about, but definitely something a Directv technician can look at (this is easily done using the satellite receiver and TV set).
  12. Hi guys. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, nothing different on my end whatsoever. Feel free, that's what it's there for.
  13. Okay. It sounds like some of this stuff wasn't online to begin with then. So bringing it online would be part of the transformation, be it in the privately emailed PDF files or the publicly available website schedules. As far as my project goes, the roughest parts are behind me. It is easy enough for me to keep it going, so no worries.
  14. I'm going to go out on a limb here (not very far out though) and suggest that an IT staff doesn't quite exist. Not that one didn't in the past... I hadn't really put that much thought into it, but that's just what it is looking like to me.
  15. I'm not familiar with what some of you were looking at before. Bear in mind I do my own thing with the schedules, so I don't pay a whole lot of attention to these other things. Are you saying the "premieres" or "spotlights" are completely gone now?
  16. I was curious how long ago the latest server update actually happened. In my OP I posted the version list from Wikipedia. Now here is the version list from Apache: https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/changelog.html To recap, they are using Apache Tomcat 6.0.35. Version 6.0 was "sunsetted" in April of 2017 with the final point release 6.0.53. That means there won't be any more security or maintenance on 6.0. Based on the document linked above, the version they are using (6.0.35) was released on 2011-12-05. Then the next point release after that (6.0.36) came on 2012-10-19. The point release they are using was basically a minor release in between two bigger point releases, nothing that special about that. That helps my theory that they were just using the latest that was available at the time. So it is safe to say their server software hasn't been updated since sometime in late 2011 or 2012. Security patches on their end wouldn't have been available since April of 2017.
  17. Try changing those dates in a text editor first. There might be something silly happening with your browser. P.S. The ad banner at the top of the "Now Playing" (Monthly) page now only displays the current month, even if you are looking at a future month. They really shouldn't have removed the real name of the month from the Monthly page, it is causing all sorts of confusion. (ie. if it is August and you are looking ahead at the October Monthly page, then it should say October somewhere...) So now the Monthly page is the "Now Playing" page. One step forward, two steps back.
  18. This isn't really documented anywhere, so just save this somewhere so you can avoid pulling your hair out. Date format = YYYY-MM-DD. Adjust month or day to suit. For Monthly schedule just change the month, for Weekly adjust the month and day. Daily Schedule URL format: tcm.com/schedule/index.html?tz=est&sdate=2017-08-01 Weekly Schedule URL format: tcm.com/schedule/weekly.html?tz=est&sdate=2017-08-01 Monthly Schedule URL format: tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?tz=est&sdate=2017-08-01 P.S. Between the Daily and Weekly, the Daily (default "Full Schedule") is flawed and has obvious glitches whenever they change something. Sometimes those changes never properly show up in the Daily schedule. I do not recommend using the Daily schedule. Instead I recommend bookmarking and using the Weekly: tcm.com/schedule/weekly.html The Weekly always seems to be correct. And soon afterwards, so is the Monthly. Clear as mud.
  19. It's unfortunate, but just about the only way to get anyone's attention in corporations these days is to post something for all to see on their Twitter or Facebook account. I'm not a fan of any of these, and I suspect you aren't either. So unless someone else who actually does have an account like this wants to play along, those options are probably off the table.
  20. Not out of the question as it was already shown in 2013. In fact I actually recorded it off TCM but probably just haven't watched it yet. Sounds like a corollary to Roller Boogie culture and other bad but wonderful 80s types of things.
  21. Hi Tikisoo. I took a look at the schedule you linked to. The header is just static. It is irrelevant in context of whatever monthly page you are looking at. The bold entries are also irrelevant, they just alternate on every other entry. At this point it is definitely just for looks. For the time being...the address bar at the top of the browser will still have the website address you clicked on or entered into it. You could further cross-check your month by looking on the schedule for what day of the week the first of the month falls on. Then look at an actual calendar to verify (ie. Aug 1 2017 = Tues; Sept 1 2017 = Fri, etc. Ergo, "On this schedule I see the 1st happens on a Friday, ahh yes it is September."). Not always bulletproof, as Sept 1 and Dec 1 both fall on a Fri, but at least plausible when considering the surrounding months. I agree the newsletter should be sent out in advance, then they could send updates or fixes to that afterwards. Emails are free. They are still a new idea.
  22. Also maybe consider A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1949) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0041259/?ref_=nv_sr_1 I haven't seen this, but the foreknowledge of the eclipse sounds like something straight out of the book (I remember reading this as a kid). In the book he also introduced them to a water well with an iron pump, and dynamite.
  23. Everything on those stations has an impressive aspect ratio that way. Kind of like a postage stamp-sized Cinemascope movie on a HD TV.
  24. Newest schedule analysis info is posted. Twice this month, which makes up for last month. Here is my revised premiere list. http://moviecollector.us/reports/Future_Premieres.htm The rest can be found under my signature link.
