HITS & MISSES: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow on TCM

sapphiere--I've not seen "Sanctuary" (1961) or "Tomorrow" (1972). Wish I could be of more help. Hopefully someone reading this thread will be able to help. Saturday, Nov. 7th; All times E.S.T.: 12:00 p.m.--"Love Crazy"--(1941)--Powell & Loy comedy I've missed. 8:00 p.m.--"Norma Rae"--(1979)--Despite films' faults, Field proved she was a capable dramatic actress who could carry a film by herself; & her Oscar win was the cherry on top of the sundae. Film also won Best Song, "It Goes As It Goes". -
Why No Birthday Tribute for Burt Lancaster?
film lover 293 replied to MarshaKatz's topic in General Discussions
LornaHansonForbes--Thank you for finding this! Lancaster's trademark intensity is just in his voice and is remarkable--I wonder what he could have done with the film. Joan Bennett is good but too romantic, IMHO. Trivia--The role of Lola Dietrichson is played by Mercedes McCambridge, three years away from a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "All The Kings' Men" (1949). Her role is short, but McCambridges' high pitched voice and intensity make her role as memorable as Lancasters'. Back to Lancaster. -

It!, the Terror from Beyond Space tonite at midnite
film lover 293 replied to NipkowDisc's topic in General Discussions
I was wondering if someone was going to post about this film. Is this a precursor to "Alien" (1979),minus the "chestburster" scene? -
OK--I was just on Wikipedia, & I know their word isn't Always right--but CountessDracula or anyone else who knows--a statement from Wiki I'd like information about, & a question. Wiki says Tod Browning was ill during most of the shooting, & let cinematographer Karl Freund direct more than half the film. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, that would explain the excellent opening camerawork, & then the film becoming not-as-good ( assuming the film was shot in sequence). Two: again, according to Wiki, there is supposed to be a silent version of the film. Has anyone seen it? If yes, opinions on it?? Thanks in advance for answers.
