But I DIDN'T get Mine! -
While watching a silent film which do you like most to hear play? A grand Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, a solo piano, A full orchestra, small jazz ensemble or added sound effects like horns and whistles. My own choice would be a theatre organ.

I am sure a bio-pic on Heff will come forth. Who could play him? I nominate Sean Penn.

Jennifer Jones disliked William Holden so much that she ate garlic before they had their love scenes. -
AFI's 25 Greatest Movie Scores of All-Time
im4cinema2 replied to Richard Kimble's topic in General Discussions
I suggest going to Youtube and listen to one of the many "Soundtrack Suites" of movie music scores. Most are 15 minute versions of favorite scores. You can start with these scores in miniature; Robin Hood, A Summer Place and Love Is A Many Splendored Thing. -
Thank you Yanceycravit. It was Wolf of Wall Street. Rarely do I walk out on a movie but this one I did.

The Bull Of Wall Street or The Bull On Wall Street......? Anyhow it was a lot of bull!

Thank you Eric J. I appreciate your correcting me. Anyway we can see a classic film is a plus for us.

This story has been filmed so many times The most spectacular was 1961's with Jeffery Hunter. The most unwatchable was Mel Gibson's, but the one I love the best and it always brings me to tears is the silent with H B Warner. It is like looking back in time as to how it actually was.

Stephen King based his clown Pennywise on the real life horror clown Gacey who murdered young children.

Roy Cronin you have it right! Besides the regular DVDs you can borrow like books there are films that can be downloaded by using a registered library card. Those are the films you can't borrow as a dvd.
-
Some of you are not following. The NY Public Library is NOT making their film trove available by DVDs. With a registered library card you'll be able to see films through your lap tops or compute
-
There is a new alternative for classic film fans should TCM go under. The NY Public library has opened its doors to the vaults of thousands of films just for getting a NYPL card. Contact the NY Public Library for details.

I am afraid this is the beginning of the end of TCM. We must create a louder voice for them to hear the supporters.
