  1. Technically, this thread was about the unhappy endings to fiction movies we'd like to change, but I can go with this. :-) For me, off the top of my head, it would be the ending to Stella Dallas . I can get choked-up just thinking of it. :-(
  2. Hey! How's your TCM tattoo doing? You are a hoot! I always enjoy seeing your little spot. I like the one with the Lady in Black at the cemetery, too. :-) I was introduced to Dom in The Glass Bottom Boat and loved him and, of course, he was perfect in Mel Brooks' movies. I thought he did a great job in Fatso . I liked him a lot and remember him from the old days of Johnny Carson, especially when Johnny was in NYC. I also got a great kick out of him on Dean Martin's Show. Message was edited by: georgiegirl
  3. In Play it Again Sam , Woody Allen's character, Allan Felix, got a moment he waited for his whole life, to quote Bogey in Cassablanca . Have you ever had a moment in your life where you got to use one of your favorite lines from a movie, and I don't just mean as a quote, but to use it in the heat or cool of a moment in your life because it fit like a glove and came from the heart?
  4. Even though he did say a woman needs a good slap once in a while, that is one hot pic of Mr. Connery; the best of the best of the James Bonds! :-)
  5. I found this site that lists movies with the theme of lynching. http://www.spout.com/members/MemberTagFilms.aspx?MemberID=0&TagName=lynching&Page=1
  6. So, Lombard, what do you think of the suggestions? Satisfied or no winners? lol
  7. I should ask Lombard, who started this mystery, if he/she's sure these photos are of well known celebs. It could be they were B movie celebs and not leading even in those, but... However, I just look at those faces and things jump out at me I can't quite put my finger on. A name comes to the tip of my tongue, or brain, then melts away. lol
  8. Yep, my bad. Never Say Never Again was the last for Connery. How could I have missed that? You got me stirred, not shaken. ;-) I have yet to see it and should watch it. It's been on one of the premium stations for the last few months and I keep flippin' past it. lol For anyone who hasn't seen any of the Bond movies, Connery is the way to go. But if you like Moore or Brosnan better, well, take your pick. You can always count on a pretty good story line and action scenes with any of the Bonds, so...
  9. No! Martha Scott? I couldn't find a pic of her young. Odd. Message was edited by: georgiegirl
  10. I'm not so sure that's Doris Day, but it could be. The other one, maybe Lizabeth Scott? lol
  11. Goldfinger . Diamonds are Forever, Connery's last go at Bond was good, too. I stopped watching after he left. Once Connery has spoken, "Bond, James Bond", there's no other who can fill his shoes, at least not in my book. :-)
  12. Uncontrollable urge to talk and write in piglish. Oink! lol Swine Flu Symptoms According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include: fever, which is usually high cough runny nose or stuffy nose sore throat body aches headache chills fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme diarrhea and vomiting (sometimes) Signs of a more serious swine flu infection might include pneumonia and respiratory failure. 13. I'm enjoying seeing you guys find this stuff! You really amaze me and I'm so impressed! They say there is a war going on between TCM and AMC, but as far as I'm concerned, the members here rule! Such dedication to films and their stars, and each other when it comes to finding the answers to questions. :-)
  14. I think you guys got 1-3-4 but what about 2-5? lol The girl in 5 eyes look so familiar!
  15. You guys are doing great on those mystery photos. I'm sure lombard will be pleased to see what you've come up with so far. Good research and detecting going on here. :-)
  16. Everything that makes for a good romance movie is right there for me, so, yeah, I agree, it's a great romance movie. :-)
  17. Hello, welcome to the thread. :-) No, they do look somewhat like who you guessed but, no, I don't think so.
  18. You are somthing else! Yep, Marsha Hunt. So, what do you think of these mystery photos? The ladies look familiar but I haven't got any guesses yet.
  19. Wow! You've given us a real challenge, but you certainly have come to the right place. If these folks can't figure it out, no one can. :-) Sometimes these things don't happen over night, so be patient and check often. :-) Message was edited by: georgiegirl
  20. Nope, not Furness. It looks like we have a mystery to solve here. :-)
