  1. Really, Gene's family. Wow! Unusual for those days. Okay, Ethel Barrymore?
  2. Gary Cooper was so adorable! Gene Tierney? And I wonder why she, or the studio, chose to use the masculine form of Gene. Maybe because she was the epitome of femininity? lol
  3. Well, maybe if this were another forum I'd discuss it with you, but this is a movie forum, so... Bugs Bunny had a cartoon you may enjoy. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfmsSmkNHto
  4. John Wayne? lol Ooh, Randolph Scott?! lol Message was edited by: georgiegirl
  5. OMG! I never heard of this documentary. I got scared for a moment because I thought I saw signs of myself there, but, whew! lol I don't think either of us have to worry about being cinemaniacs. lol We just love movies. :-) And I watch at least four or five a day, and more if TCM is on a roll. I can watch all day and night, and have for long stretches of time. lol Message was edited by: georgiegirl
  6. Thanks Mr. Dobbs! I tried to enlarge it but for some reason Photobucket, though it let me enlarge it, when I posted it, it was back to the original size. I can't figure what's with that. Anyway, my guess is Jon Voight (sp) or Roy Rogers. lol
  7. Oh, you must be floating on air since that taping! What a compliment Mr. Osborne paid you by stating for all of us to hear, you'd be the man he run to and sit and have a drink if he needed help! My head would have exploded at that. lol I'll never know how you stayed so calm and cool! Great movie, great job! Bravo!
  8. Mongo, I now know you love Barbara S. and are the master at photos, but just in case you missed this one...
  9. I'm not young, but I had to put my two cents in here. I am *thrilled* to see you kids here, feeling as you do about the classics. Juan, a very young man of 15, who guest hosted last night with Robert O. , and ILoveRayMilland and another memeber here whose name escapes me, affirms the torch is passed down! To use your own words, though I'm probably behind the times, you guys rock! :-)
  10. Nazism was an abomination upon the earth. To make light/sport/fun of the Jihads of the Mid East would be a religious insult. Two very different beasts. No?
  11. Hello. You are certainly up on the latest releases, and I hope you're not disappointed once you put down the money for the tickets. :-)
  12. Way to go! That was excellent! You brought to my attention how much the jack-hammer scene plays into the whole story. No wonder kids go to you for the answers. And, if my faltering memory serves, weren't you one of the members who was on the thread about the beautiful people and you said you've been told you look like Anthony Perkins? If so, you do, only a better version. :-) Sit back and I'll pour you a drink! Message was edited by: georgiegirl because I'm an idiot!
  13. Ooh, if it's you the Kyle here, I'm excited for you right now! :-)
  14. Doh, Foul Play ,with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn, was based on this movie and it just dawned on me tonight. And for you original Star Trek fans, Reggie Nalder who played Rien, the assassin in The Man Who Knew Too Much, also played Shras the Andorian spy in the episode Journey to Babel . :-)
  15. I had such a crush on him as Bonehead in the beach party movies. Frankie seemed too old for a girl of ten. I loved him in the beach movie when he fell in love with the mermaid. An early Splash , hmm. lol
  16. lol Not even close! :-) Could it be, could it really be I've come up with one as challenging as Ham's or one of your own? lol
  17. Jeff, if you check out this board, what a kick I got from the story of your mom, you, and TCM! lol Next time you'll listen to what your mom tells you and not give her any back talk! lol Great movie, great intro. :-) I think Hollywood Kyle is up next with one of my all time favorite movies! :-)
  18. Hey, Anna, if you check out the message board, you did super. You seemed so relaxed and seemed to have had a lot of fun. What a great laugh. That was a nice story about you going away to college and TCM feeling like home. I was like you, raised in that bubble. :-) Good job!
  19. Yes, Helen Hayes. Let's see what you wise alecks do with this one. Okay, I tried to enlarge the photo but no go, sorry. Message was edited by: georgiegirl
  20. Wow! You speak of movies as well as you write of them, and you looked so nice. Kudos on the plug for your website. I hope you get lots of hits and sales of your documentary. :-)
  21. LzCutter, I see you're up next! I don't have to see it to know you're going to do a wonderful job. Mr. Osbourne was gracious as a host and has that ability to make one feel at home. I'm looking forward to your intro. :-)
  22. Hello. I haven't seen this on TV in many years, not that I recall. The Egg and I starring Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray. While shaving one morning, World War II veteran Bob ecstatically informs his new bride Betty that he has quit his mundane job in the city for the idyllic life of raising chickens in the country. Driving a decrepit truck crammed with livestock, the newlyweds soon venture into the mountains and arrive at their new home, a dilapidated old shack. As Bob bubbles on about their wonderful new life, Betty contends with a leaky roof and recalcitrant stove, and it doesn't end there. This movie introduced the characters of Ma and Pa Kettle. I'd love to see a movie or two of theirs in a series. :-)
