  1. The setup was purely informational to bring the viewer into the enormity of the agricultural operation that will be the backdrop of the drama played out. The camera action impresses upon us the breadth of the land involved and then focuses on showing the viewer braceros who will be the players in the drama that will ensue. Documentary style was perfect to achieve that objective. The announcer's voice had a nasal quality typical of ehat one heard in the narration of newsreels at that time.
