Correct Princess. Awhile ago I read James Garner's autobiography "The Garner Files" and he specifically mentions his first acting role which was sitting on the stage in The Caine Mutiny Court Martial starring Henry Fonda in the role of Lt. Barney Greenwald. Garner didn't have any lines. He just sat in the court room during the trial. He would watch Henry Fonda on stage night after night, performance after performance. Garner said it was the greatest lesson in acting he ever had.
Well, back to the business at hand. Princess, it's your turn.

Thanks, Princess,
Well, this movie star started on stage in a very famous Broadway play and didn't utter a word. The Broadway play became a very famous movie but the actor was not a member of the cast. The movie star became an "overnight" success in a TV series which overtook The Ed Sullivan Show in TV ratings.
Name the movie star and the TV Series.
