WINTER MEETING

DGF - I'm more than just a casual baseball fan. I absolutely love the game and can't wait for Spring Training. That being said, I'm having a lot of difficulty with this AKA movie title - The best that I can come up with is "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" and the only reason for this film would be due to the 100th Anniversary of Frank Sinatra's birthday. So right now that's my guess.

Great going, shutoo - Ruth Gordon and her husband Garson Kanin (who also was a director) wrote the screenplays for "Adam's Rib" and "Pat & Mike" for Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn as well as the screenplay for "A Double Life" starring Ronald Colman. One of her most notable movie performances were in the cult classics "Harold And Maude" and "Where's Poppa?" I am a big Columbo fan and watch all the reruns whenever possible. I'll never forget the episode where Ruth Gordon guest starred as the mystery writer Abigail Mitchell who kills her niece's husband because he was responsible for the death of her niece who was like a daughter to her. The cat and mouse between Miss Gordon and Peter Falk was tremendous and some of the dialogue and scenes were totally improvised and off script. This is episode #1 in Season 7 (1977) of the Columbo series and is called "Try And Catch Me". Peter Falk was to have said that of all the episodes and guests this was his favorite on both counts. shutoo, the thread is yours.

Thanks, Princess, But the Tony Awards for No, No Nanette in 1971 went to Helen Gallagher for Best Actress in a Musical and to Patsy Kelly for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Bobby Van was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical and Donald Saddler won for Best Choreography of a Musical. All for the 1971 Revival of No, No Nanette which I was fortunate enough to see and even more fortunate to see Ruby Keeler do one of the best "buck and wings" ever. It was a great night in the theater for me. Princess - with your permission - I'd like to pass on this thread and let someone else take it.
