Sorry to see that TCM will not be featuring Richard Widmark and Bette Davis in Summer Under The Stars. Miss Davis is my favorite actress and Mr. Widmark is a particular favorite actor of mine who never seems to get enough recognition. Mr. Widmark is also missing from Summer of Darkness and that's a shame because his "film noir" movies are quite wonderful e.g. Kiss of Death, Night And The City, Pickup on South Street, Panic In The Streets, Yellow Sky (it may be considered a western but I consider it in film noir as well), Road House, and Run For The Sun. Miss Davis is just the best darn actress

I brought this up specifically because four of my favorite films (which I consider film noir) are Rififi, Diabolique, Night And The City and Brighton Rock, the first two are French and the 2nd two are British. Is Film Noir world wide?

Thanks jamesjazzguitar for the information you gave me. Appreciate it. Hopefully TCM will be able to option more of Richard Widmark 20th Century Fox films so that everyone can appreciate this incredibly talented actor......whether in a film noir or not.

I love the Summer of Darkness Film Noir festival, but I'm very disappointed that Richard Widmark's films have not been represented e.g. Night And The City, Pickup on South Street, Kiss of Death, Road House, Run for the Sun, and Panic in the Streets. I'm hoping that next year Summer of Darkness Film Noir will feature the incredible films of Richard Widmark. I'd also like to see Richard Widmark featured as a TCM Star of the Month. He was an actor with incredible range. Thanks.
