Princess, great guess, but not Jack Hawkins. Hint #2 - This actor definitely gave Peter Sellers a run for his money by portraying 8 different characters in one film; the film was made into a hit Broadway musical.

lavender - absolutely correct. To me, it's Woody Allen's funniest film. Bravo S. Prokofiev, Bravo Boris and Sonia. The thread is yours.

Thanks, Princess Jule Styne was a great composer who had a gift for composing "signature songs" for some of Broadway's greatest female performers. I wish Ethel Merman had been able to play Mama Rose in the movie Gypsy or if there were a tape of one of her performances on Broadway. Alas, we always have the original Broadway cast album and can picture Ethel in her greatest role. Moving on...... Steven Hill Barnard Hughes Joan Copland E.G. Marshall Dorothy Stickney

Good guess, Princess, but not John Mills. This knighted actor had a "falling out" with David Lean coincidentally after he declined a role in "Ryan's Daughter" in which John Mills was cast and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The actor in question, however, will probably be known for one of the most iconic roles in movies.

Thanks, Star David Lean considered this actor his "good luck charm". Name the actor and a few of the films he made with Lean.

Barbra Streisand, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Holliday all sang songs in films composed by Jule Styne. Ethel Merman as Mama Rose sang songs composed by Jule Styne in Gypsy in the original Broadway show.
