CHARADE (1963) - who, instead of Cary Grant?

I am dazzled by her charms, so you know what's wrong with Audrey in Charade? -
Thank you, Starlit. Describing a costar, this person said: "He wasn't very tall; vocally he had a range from A to B; his eyes were like shiny coal nuggets pressed deep into his skull; and his smile was a mistake that he tried to keep from happening. He was no movie hero. He was no hero at all".

CHARADE (1963) - who, instead of Cary Grant?
Arsan404 replied to papyrusbeetle's topic in Films and Filmmakers
It would have been a totally different movie. With Laurence Olivier and Joan Plowright as the leads, the movie would be more suspenseful, and the sense of danger heavier, more real. If Joan is in danger, we would be at the edge of our seats. With Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn as leads, Charade is a light romantic thriller. Stanley Donen seems to go for charm and elegance rather than suspense. Charade with Olivier and Plowright could be a good thriller. Charade with Grant and Hepburn is sheer fun. -
