  1. ...of course, part of me also wonders if maybe Spanish people made their verb conjugations so GD complicated just so they can spot and draw out the non-native speakers, then pelt them with avocados.

Spanish verb conjugations are not as difficult as the declensions used in some languages, including Latin. I don't understand why there are 4 or more variations of the same article or noun if it is nominative, or accusative, etc. That's mind-boggling to me.

  2. LOL

Yeah, or maybe pelted with Sapotes!

I only mentioned the "Sapote" here because our old house in SoCal had two large Sapote trees in the back yard when we bought it back in 1990. We had no idea what kind of fruit trees these were until we took one of the fruit they bore to a local nursery, and they explained what it was and that these trees are indigenous to Mexico and parts of Central and South America, and that the fruit is a popular delicacy in those regions...

(...our's were the White Sepote trees, btw...and the yellowish pulpy fruit when ripe kind of tastes like a cross between a papaya and a mango)

We made a trip to central Mexico some time ago, and we had the chance to try lots of different local fruit, including zapotes and chicozapotes. They are delicious. Zapote is spelled with a z in Mexico, because to Mexican, sapote is a large toad.
