Campeones (Champions). Spain. 2018. Directed by Javier Fesser. With Javier Gutiérrez, Athenea Mata, Jesús Vidal, Gloria Ramos. A basketball coach is sentenced to train a team of mentally challenged players for his community service. Very funny comedy that never gets sentimental or preachy. In the best scene, after the Championship game is over, the coach realizes that he completely missed the point and understands what the tournament was all about. Recommended.

A United Artists/AIP Retrospective Scrapbook: 1955

Marty is definitely my favorite this year. Ernest Borgnine has always been one of my favorite actors and here he gives the best performance of his career. Night of the Hunter is an excellent movie, with terrific performances by Robert Mitchum and Lillian Gish. David Lean, Katharine Hepburn, and Venice in the 1950s are the best reasons to watch Summertime .- 2 replies

Charles Laughton in terrific in Hobson's Choice, and I've always enjoyed Beat the Devil. Both movies are my favorites this year.
