  1. Next:  In a late-1930s film starring Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, MacDonald sang several arias that were from well-known operas.  However, there is a scene where MacDonald and Eddy perform in a fictitious opera, which was supposed to have been written especially for MacDonald's character in the film.  The music was actually based on a real symphony that was written by a well-known composer.

Please name the fictitious opera, the song that the opera was based on, and the composer.

  2. Mel Blanc was king of voice actors!  He provided the voices for almost all of the WB Looney Tunes characters, as well as characters for other studios.

Eleanor Audley is one of my favorite voice actresses.  She is best known for providing the voices for Lady Tremaine (the wicked stepmother in Disney's version of Cinderella) and Maleficent (the villain in Disney's version of Sleeping Beauty).

Sterling Holloway is best known for providing the voice for Winnie the Pooh, as well a many other beloved Disney characters.  He was probably the most-used voice actor in Walt Disney's animated films.

Bill Thompson is best known for being the original voice of Droopy the Dog.  He had previously been a part of the popular radio program Fibber McGee and Molly.  He also provided the voices for several well-known animated characters.  In the Disney animated film Lady and the Tramp, he voiced at least 5 different characters (each of them with a different accent).

Verna Felton voiced several Disney characters, including the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella and The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland.

Barbara Luddy is best known for providing the voices for Lady in Lady and the Tramp, Merriweather in Sleeping Beauty, and Kanga in the Winnie the Pooh movies.

Clarence Nash is best known for being the voice of Donald Duck (for about 50 years!)

Kathryn Beaumont is best known for the voice of Alice in Disney's version of Alice in Wonderland and Wendy Darling in Disney's version of Peter Pan.

Thurl Ravenscroft is best known for being the voice of Tony the Tiger in the Frosted Flakes commercials.  In addition to voicing other characters, he is known for singing "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" in the animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas
