Thanks! The Jean Simmons two-part episode is one of my favorites, too. Simmons was wonderful in the role of Eudora. (What a name!) By the way, Glynis Johns appeared in the episode called "Sing a Song of Murder". Olivia Hussy also appeared in this episode. Angela Lansbury had a dual role as Jessica Fletcher and cousin Emma McGill. In this episode, Angela Lansbury sang "Goodbye, Little Yellow Bird" (the song that she sang in The Picture of Dorian Gray.) I'm surprised that Hurd Hatfield didn't appear in this episode! That's so cool that you know someone who appeared on this show! It's nice to know that your friend enjoyed working with Lansbury. I've often wondered what she was like in real life. I've always loved the fact that this show used a wide variety of actors -- from newbies to major stars and everyone in between. It seemed like it was important to Lansbury to give all actors a chance. I especially appreciate the fact that she made it a point to have the old Hollywood stars appear on her show. When I first started watching this show, I wasn't really into old movies that much. Now that I've become a classic movie fan, I appreciate this show even more. Before I read the article, I assumed the same thing. Actually, it was the language in the documentary that got the film its R rating. Apparently, the "F" word was used several times. Because this film was aimed at teenagers, there was a big fight to get the rating lowered to PG-13. The filmmakers wanted this film to be able to be shown in schools. To get their desired rating, a few "F" words were edited out of the movie.

...or Roy Nelson Miles, Gipper isn't the only one who has posted names that seemed rather obscure, so I'm not sure why you singled him/her out. I've seen a few other names that had me scratching my head in confusion. Some names were even hard to search for on Google.
