  1. Continuing with the Looney Tunes theme....

Next: This lovely song was introduced in a 1940s Warner Brothers western, which starred one of the studio's most popular actors.  The female lead in this western sings the song.  This song was also sung rather boisterously by a well-known character in a Looney Tunes cartoon.  He keeps another well-known character up at night with his singing.

Name the song, the movie it was introduced in, and the 2 singers (the female singer and the cartoon singer).  Bonus points for giving the name of the cartoon.

  2. Very good, Azure! Yes, "The Michigan Rag" is the only "original" song in "One Froggy Evening". It was created by the talents behind the cartoon: Michael Maltese, Milt Franklin, and Chuck Jones. In fact the frog was later named Michigan J. Frog after that song.

Thanks, Lonesome.  I was hoping that you would post the video for this one!  If you hadn't, I definitely would have.  And thanks for posting the lyrics.  Now I can sing along with the correct words.

    :D

By the way, I love your new avatar!

  3. Yes, it is indeed Mr. Coogan.  If I were to list all of my favorite child stars, he would be #1 on my list.  Of course, I also loved him on The Addams Family

Good job, Miles.  The thread's all yours.

  4. NEXT:

In the classic WB short "One Froggy Evening," most of the songs the frog sings are classics. But which song was written just for the cartoon?

I think it's a song called "The Michigan Rag".

(I love that you posted a Looney Tunes-related question!)

    :)

  5. Thanks, Lavender.  Fortunately, the mess is all cleared up now.  Thank goodness!

Next:  Who is this guy?  As a child, he performed on the vaudeville stage and appeared in several silent films.  He also appeared in several sound films and many TV shows.  He made his last film in the mid-1980s.

This photo is from the 1940s.  (It's not from a movie.)

  6. Hint:  The lady's son-in-law, who thinks that her astrological talk is all nonsense, accidentally burns down the house.  The lady insists that this is a sign of doom for the marriage.  Her son-in-law storms off and the marriage is annulled.
