  1. Edward G. Robinson is billed after Miriam Hopkins in Barbary Coast.

Slightly off topic -- Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis both insisted on top billing for Boeing Boeing.  The problem was solved by having their names go around in a circle.  On printed ads, their names were arranged like this:

    Gotta love Hollywood!

  2. Are you thinking of Bette Davis?

That's who I'm thinking of!  Good job, Liam.  Yes, Bette Davis was one of the actors who guest starred on Perry Mason while Raymond Burr was recovering in the hospital.

I haven't seen you on the boards in a while.  Nice to have you back.

    Your turn, Liam.

  3. Believe it or not, starliteyes, I have not seen either one of those films. Terrible oversights on my part, I must confess.

I've never seen those films either!  I really want to, though.  I'm a fan of both Jean Harlow and Eddie Cantor (especially Jean Harlow).

Here's another one for the list --

Chasing Rainbows - It was filmed in black-and-white, but has a couple of color sequences.  Unfortunately, the color sequences are lost.

  4. Nice example. There were some television programs in the 1980s that reverse the process. In an episode of Murder, She Wrote they use scenes from the b&w noir STRANGE BARGAIN (1949), so Jessica can solve a crime that literally did occur years earlier, on screen at least.

Yes, I remember this episode of Murder, She Wrote.  I think they did this in another episode, but I can't remember which one.
