  1. OK, I've got one. Next: When the star of this classic legal drama fell ill, several actors were called in to replace him while he was in the hospital. One of those people was a very well-known actress. What is the name of this actress?
  2. Hint: The suit that his great-grandmother makes for him is green (with small flowers on it). The boys at his new school constantly make fun of his suit. They fight with him during recess and after school. His great-grandfather gives him lessons on how to fight so that he can defend himself.
  3. That's correct! Good job, Starlit. And thanks for the video. This is such a cute song. I love the part when Sinatra imitates Durante. The thread's all yours, Star.
  4. Thanks, Lavender. Next: A woman, who believes in astrology, warns her daughter and her new son-in-law that their marriage will be cursed.
  5. Clive Swift was in A Passage to India with Alec Guinness. Alec Guinness was in The Bridge on the River Kwai with William Holden. William Holden was in The Towering Inferno with Paul Newman. Next: Teresa Wright
  6. Skyline?? (This is a movie from 2010, so I don't know if this is the title that you're thinking of. It seems to be the only word that I can come up with, though! Please let me know what the correct answer is. I'll move on so we can keep the thread going.) Next: HTE ETIIDUNNV
  7. 5.) Her first husband was Frank Fay. Her second husband was Robert Taylor.
  8. I STILL can't believe this! What were those Academy Awards judges thinking???
  9. Next: In a modest late-1940s musical/romantic comedy, this fun song was sung by a well-known comedian and a very well-known singer/actor. The singer/actor plays a returning soldier who wants to become a singer. The comedian, who plays his friend and mentor, tries to help him to achieve his dream. A well-known female singer also stars in this movie. Name the song, the two people who sang it and the movie it's featured in.
  10. So Andy Williams was their "backup plan"? Too funny. Why couldn't they get a woman to dub her voice? Someone should find his recording of this song and compare it to Bacall's singing voice. I love Lauren Bacall in this movie, but I think that they should have gotten someone else to sing the song. I don't really care for Bacall's singing voice. (Sorry, Miss Bacall!) And yes, she did look a lot older than 19!
  11. Interesting. Well, it certainly sounded like it was her own voice. It's kind of hard to believe that a voice like that could belong to a 14-year-old boy (but you never know). Thanks for the info.
  12. That's correct! Good job, Lavender. Clinton Sundberg is also known for playing a film director in an episode of I Love Lucy ("Ricky's Screen Test"). The thread's all yours, Lavender.
  13. Thanks for the video, Lonesome. It looks like a fun movie. It's so weird to hear Gene Kelly singing with a different voice!
  14. Yes, I did notice that! I love the part when someone fixes her hair while she's talking.
  15. Next: OK, this shouldn't be too hard. You've probably seen this actor in several movies and TV shows. Unlike our dear Mr. Pennick, he usually appeared on the list of credited actors. He appeared in many movies during the 1940s and 1950s. In the 1950s and 1960s, he made guest appearances on many TV shows.
  16. Thanks, Miles. I looked up his list of credits and I was amazed at how many well-known films he's been in. I bet he made one heck of a bodyguard. In addition to having a fierce-looking face, he was also very tall -- 6 feet 4 1/2 inches. I'm sure no one dared to come near Shirley Temple! Well, Miles, I'm sure Jack Pennick appreciates the fact that you gave him some well-deserved attention. I'll be on the lookout for this guy when I watch the films that he's in.
  17. 10.) He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978. Next: Barbara Stanwyck 1.) She was born on July 16, 1907 in Brooklyn, New York.
  18. Is it "How Little We Know", sung by Lauren Bacall in To Have and Have Not?
  19. Hint: His great-grandmother makes him a new suit out of one of her petticoats.
