I am watching Greer Carson for the 1st time, in "Mrs Parkington"; what a remarkable actress she was!
And as I was admiring her performance, I kept wondering whom she reminded me of. After one particular expression, it dawned on me: I had seen the same facial expression on Meryl Streep. Greer Carson's face even seemed at times very similar to Meryl's, so much so that I thought they might be related. IMdB showed no relation, so my only thought is that Meryl Streep might have drawn inspiration from Greer Carson's work. And the more I watched the movie, the more "looks", facial expressions, and even voice intonations I noticed that reminded me of Meryl Streep's acting, particularly in such a comedy as Death Becomes Her, in her portrayal of a fading actress. I would love to hear from fellow movie lovers if anyone shares the same impression.
