Eh, my favorite films are mostly from the 60's and 70s. Yet for some reason it bothers me when TCM shows films from the late 80's to the present. Irrational, yet true...

The David Lynch shorts were definitely a bonus. Wonderful programing, though my brain could have done without Dumbland. Another lovely Halloween TCM! Erm, sorry. New to the forum, this was supposed to be posted somewhere else....

!!! Wow. I had no idea. My favorite TCM Underground this year has been Darktown Strutters. But I don't doubt those stats. Funny that I noticed the recently made films now and not before, as I've been an avid watcher of TCM. Thanks, I really enjoy this forum, and the wisdom within...

I have to concur, TCM Underground turned me on to many directors from the 70s and 80's that I was not aware of! I am also a huge fan of 70's films, Monte Hellman being one of my favorites. I was just worried about the 90's and 00s fare as TCM is my oasis and suddenly popular fare resembling regular cable film channels was being shown on what seemed to be a regular basis. Glad it was nothing, my oasis still exists!

Well said! Thank you, I did not know about the programming curriculum, just happened to notice that there have been a lot of very recent films shown in the past 2 weeks and did not understand why. Thanks again!

Yes, I'm new to the message boards. Today is my first day on this site. I understand where you are coming from, but I love TCM because it show movies that are rarely found on any other channel. Like last night's Disney films! Wonderful. Hurt Locker and Virgin Suicides? I think both films can be found on Netflix. Kinda disappointed... I understand the urge to turn on new viewers to contemporary classics, but those films are pretty run of the mill...

Tonight is the Hurt Locker, 2008. Not such a classic movie...I've noticed more and more films from the late 80's and 90's have been added to the schedule, and it worries me. Please don't change! I love classic films, especially those I have never heard of and rarely get a chance to see. But lately I keep tuning into what seems to be the programming of a run of the mill cable channel. My topic is not so much for discussion as it is a plead for help. Don't change! The Hurt Locker made me sign up to this site and attempt to take a stand...
