Jake-- thank you very much for the picture of Phyllis Potter Astaire with Fred on their wedding day. Since this was her second marriage, they were married in a judge's chambers in New York City. They had two children. -

Elizabeth Montgomery died from colon cancer in 1995. Her father actor/director Robert Montgomery died of cancer in 1981. Her brother Robert Montgomery JR died of lung cancer in 2000. -

How often does this happen at 1:30 in the morning? Two terrific answers to my tap question. Gpf-- everything you said was correct so it can't be Eleanor Powell because she didn't make a comeback in a Broadway musical. That's why you couldn't think of the Broadway musical cuz it didn't exist. However, you had a very good lead on it. Miles, yes it's our favorite hoofer who never studied ballet, but she still put down the leather. My favorite Ruby Keeler number is Shanghai Lil in Footlight Parade with James Cagney. These two dancers are perfectly matched. They learned to tap dance without formal training but they are marvelous.
