  1. Lav, I knew immediately that the answer was Helen O'Connell but I couldn't find all of her husbands in one place. I used to watch that 15 minute show she did on Hollywood personalities years ago. "Tangerine" is the only hit song I know about for her. Frank De Vol was briefly one of her husband's. And of course he's famous for writing TV themes like "My Three Sons"and movies like "Pillow Talk". I didn't know he was an actor, but I obviously saw him in "The Parent Trap". Apparently she was one of the biggest female band singers, but I can't remember seeing her in any movie. I've seen Frances Langford in a few. BTW--We had the Ray Anthony "Hokey Pokey" and "Bunny Hop" record for birthday parties. I wonder if kids do that at birthday parties anymore?
  2. Miles, I could get by here with a little help from you, my friend.
  3. Two Lost Souls-- Damn Yankees With Tab Hunter Next: A song from another classic Broadway hit from the 50s-- adapted for the movies
  4. Richard Loo was in " Hell and High Water " with Victor Francen.
  5. How do you feel about the spirits industry? Whether they are selling Budweiser or Bordeaux, these substances can be abused the same way and manner as any drug. They can destroy the body and mind as well as any drugs. The only difference with these substances is that they are legal and taxed by government. In my lifetime, some of the most pathetic and saddest substance abusers I've ever seen had to do with alcohol. Whether a mind altering substance is legal or not --if a person abuses it; it's a tragedy. A seller isn't really responsible for all personal choices or a lack of personal discipline or responsibility. I can sell rat poison, to kill rats. If a person wants to take rat poison, I don't think it's the seller's fault.
  6. You can go ahead and identify the actor. Because he's still one of my favorites too.
  7. When you say drugs maybe you're little over the top. Kids in college were smoking marijuana in the late 60s and 70s. So somebody had to buy it from somebody. Allegedly Laura Bush was even selling it where she went to school in Texas. When I was in college, the State Attorney General would raid the dorms for political publicity to catch marijuana smokers and sellers. But whoever was on the reception desk did that Paul Revere thing and no one was ever arrested. This guy thought it would make him the next governor but it didn't work out that way. Turns out college students were voting by then anyway and our parents thought that he should have gone after some real criminals and leave the college students alone. 🤨🤨🤨
  8. There were the three affiliates in Kansas City. But I can remember how thrilled we were that we could pick up another station coming out of St Joseph Missouri. That means we had four, that was phenomenal in the 1950s.
  9. I'm glad I already saw this movie and enjoyed it a great deal more than 30 years ago. Otherwise there would be no point in seeing it at all, after your tell all summary here. But it's hard to believe that you missed my favorite character in this movie, "Old Joe from home". This actor is also a great character actor. Did you go to the bathroom or the kitchen when he was on?😀 Otherwise your summary is as good as the DVD.
  10. Elisabeth Risdon is an unsung treasure of a character actress. I don't know how anybody could ignore this great actress. Thanks, Swith
