  1. MeTV is starting at 11:00a (Central Time) on Sunday for Tony. My favorite one is where he gets this greasy doowop hairdo that makes him look like a drag strip JD. And every time his parents look at it, you hear this raunchy rock and roll music. I hope they show that one. It's one of the few stupid things Wally ever did. It was usually Beaver who had the whole 28 minutes for something stupid that Larry Mondello had gotten him suckered into--like the episode with the soup billboard. They'd get into trouble and then I'd love it when Madge Blake, who played his mother, would show up at the house to apologize and explain that she couldn't do a thing with Larry cuz his father was always traveling in his job. Wow, the quality of acting they had on that show. Madge was one of the favorite character actresses of Vincent Minnelli and George Cukor. And using Richard Deacon as Lumpy's dad was sheer genius--Deac was even in a Hitchcock movie. Speaking of Hitch, he had some run-ins with the kids on the Universal lot. You've got to Google those.
  2. Victor Mature was in "Easy Living" with Richard Erdman.
  3. I must say these people are not at the top of my mind, but I have enjoyed Dicky Attenborough in some movies. And his wife was the actress Sheila Sim. When I was living in London I saw "Young Winston" and liked it very much, I'm still looking forward to seeing "Gandhi". So I suppose it's Lord Richard Attenborough.
  4. Night and Day (Cole Porter)
  5. Stella--Kim Hunter in "A Streetcar Named Desire"
  6. I Was A Male War Bride Next: Chester Clute Granville Bates Pedro De Cordoba
  7. Robert Preston was in "The Dark at the Top of the Stairs" with Shirley Knight.
  8. Hugh French was in "Fancy Pants" with Eric Blore.
  9. Billie Burke was in "Merrily We Live" Bonita Granville.
  10. Ladies in Distress Next: Angela Lansbury Butch Jenkins Mickey Rooney
  11. From my perspective, Wally was the big brother that every kid my age wanted to have. He was always looking out for Beaver and wouldn't let the guys tease him too much. He was down to earth and real. But I've always wondered if Tony Dow would have been happier if he had gone on to the Olympics as a diver, instead of going on to the Universal lot as a child star. First it was Dwayne Hickman and Tim Considine, and now Tony Dow. The kids my age looked up to them on TV. And now I'm beginning to realize how good they were as actors, as well as role models.
  12. Walter Abel was in "Green Light" with Cedric Hardwicke.
