    This guy did it all--

Had his own classic radio program, had his own classic music/variety show and had his own classic sitcom. He also had a career in classic film.

His music/variety show was in the early days of TV and he won several Emmys.

But, he's best known for his classic, extremely popular TV series--Forever syndicated and with a popular series of DVDs.

Hint#1--His sitcom had a very cute gimmick.

When you identify this actor and his forever popular classic sitcom, also name one of his classic films.

Some of these are from memory and a couple I had to research.

    1.  Ted Mack's Amateur Hour - Geritol

    2.  An Evening With Fred Astaire - Chrysler

    5.  Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater - Johnson's Wax including Pledge, Klear, and Raid

    7. Jack Benny - His old radio sponsor for years was Jello, but later on TV he added Texaco

    9.  George Burns And Gracie Allen - Carnation Evaporated Milk

    10. Mr. Ed - Studebaker

13, Lawrence Welk - At one time the sponsor was Geritol, and later it was Dodge.

I remember very well my mother saying "You kids have been watching cowboy shows all day.  Saturday night is My Night for TV".  And so we watched Lawrence Welk and Perry Como on Saturdays.

    Many great memories,

    Too many to count

Lav and Miles, You've done it again--excellent and thorough memory work!

    And you've also tied.

So you two can decide who's next, but I'm glad it's not me because I think my memory is ready for a little R & R.

    7) I would add Lucky Strike Cigarettes.

    9) Carnation was their sponsor for a long time and they actually did the commercials. But early on I remember BF Goodrich Tires. Some of those commercials are really just downright laughable. If you get a chance take a look at one. Harry Von Zell did the narration. They do exist on the VHS. I don't remember if they're on my DVDs.

BTW--My mother liked Maverick so much that if we were out for the Sunday joyride, she would say--"We've got to get home before Maverick starts." But we still had to watch Lawrence Welk and Perry Como too. 🤗

When I was looking for the commercial for 20 Mule Team Borax in my previous post, I found this interesting commercial for Westinghouse with Betty Furness.
