She was one of the most successful post-World War II pop singers in her country.
When they married, he was a struggling actor--more than 10 years younger than his wife.
Their marriage mirrored the fictional "A Star is Born" script. Soon he got a contract with a major Hollywood studio, which led to films and eventually stardom on classic TV.
After his wife's career and the marriage went downhill, he became a major international movie star.
Hint#1--Both the husband and the wife were born in a foreign country.
After identifying the couple, give several career credits for each.
Hint#2--The husband was also a star on classic British TV.

"Pillow Talk". I think the screenwriter won the Oscar and he deserved it. But if I had been in that Academy, I would have given an Oscar to Jean Louis because that's what I enjoyed the most--those fabulous, timeless clothes that Doris wore.

To continue with TCM Essentials when Sydney Pollack was the host, he introduced a famous film that he admitted he had never seen. before viewing the film for The Essentials. He said that he sat at many a roundtable of writers that mentioned this film as an example of witty comedy. What was the film ?
Could it be "His Girl Friday"--starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell?
