Update:  I called the cable company and it's an area wide thing. The woman tried it there in her office and it's doing it on her TV too. She's reporting the issue to their engineers, so now I just have to wait for them to fix it. *sigh*

Turn off your SAP.

 

That is inside your cable or satellite receiver tuner or maybe your TV. It is a secondary sound channel that you need to turn off. Call your cable company and ask if they know how you can do it.

Thank you for your response. It must be a recent update to the cable box then. It wasn't doing that on Monday. I thought maybe the cats hit something on the box so I checked the one in the bedroom (which hasn't been used in months) and it was doing it there too.

Why are some of the movies narrated now? TCM is the ONLY channel I watch but I don't want to listen to someone describing what the actors are doing while they do it. When did that start? Is there a way to get rid of it? If that's going to be the way things are now, I'll have to stop watching TV.
