Wow, well... TCM has disappointed me for the end of the year. On Christmas night, they decided to replace Holiday Inn, White Christmas and It's A Wonderful Life with such movies as The Big Sleep (about the murder of a pornographer), The Maltese Falcon (about murders over a bird statue), and war-related movies. A bunch of Grinches must have planned this schedule. I'll have to search other channels and hope to catch my favorites. I thought I could always rely on TCM, but not this year. No feel-good family favorites from our childhood, just sweaty guys in loin-cloths getting beaten all morning long, followed by a night of gun-fights, fear, murders, blood, gore and war. That says Christmas. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Tey played all the good stuff before Christmas and then leave nothing for the actual day. Ugh. New Years is also a little weird. They won't play the whole movies, they're gonna play snippets of dancing with interludes of old actors talking about sets and costumes. If they line it up wrong, we'll get some guy talking about something boring while the ball drops. I'd rather see the whole movie. They put all the comedies on January 1st. I miss the year where they played the Marx Brothers marathon and we got to welcome the new year with a hearty laugh.
