  1. 3) This movie was shot in beautiful black and white.
  2. 9) Actually, I was incorrect in saying she married someone after Jack died. No. They were married for life and produced one child, but her other husband was before she became Mrs. Lemmon.
  3. 1) All the King's Men stars Broderick Crawford.
  4. Time for another hint: When this director's star of his latest movie died, footage from the actor's home movies was included where he disappears off the screen and a car accident is heard to explain his death. Also, a double was used who had a different height. This director thought no one would notice because of the cape.
  5. 9) Songs from this musical include the song "My Man" which was actually sung by Fanny Brice.
  6. Neville Brand was in Stalag 17 with William Holden William Holden was in was in Bridge on the River Kwai with James Donald James Donald was in The Gear Escape with Steve McQueen Steve McQueen was in The Towering Inferno with Paul Newman Next: Kirk Douglas
  7. Time for another hint: The movie is about baseball. The song I am asking about is sung on a bus taking the team to the next stop.
  8. 7) The real Fanny Brice got a nose job. Barbra Streisand did not.
  9. Laurence Olivier Next: Goldie Hawn or Susan Sarandon
  10. The movie FRAGMENTS has put together short reels of films that are the sole surviving reels of various silent films. I have not seen it and I forget the title, but someone recently found an Alfred Hitchcock movie that was thought to be lost.
  11. Jack Benny (who was in George Washington Slept Here) Next: Sexy photo during WWII
  12. Kevin Kline was in The Pirates of Penzance with Linda Rondstat
  13. I won't be able post any of these, but I will guess them. 1) is The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. 10) as already stated by liam is dial M For Murder.
  14. Ah, thank-you. I know there are a lot of threads in this forum that are inactive.
  15. I do enjoy our sexy new Prime Minister , thank you. And no, I have decided to stop apologizing. I have decided instead to spend more time in the thread about Gorgeous Men of Silver Screen.. That will take care of my "likes" quota for the day all the time.
  16. This is a rare find. When production started on the movie there were segregated toilets. Gable was shown them, and he said that if they were eliminated then they could get another Rhett Butler. He also had a tendency to screw up his dialogue on purpose in any of the outdoor crowd scenes because extras got paid by the day not the hour and he wanted them all to come back the next day for another day of work and money.
  17. Thanks for posting this. I am having a hard time figuring out why this made into a radio drama when the main character is shocked into a mute. It reminds me of how The Bat had to be adapted by Rinehardt into a play that was the basis for the film when we only knew activities of the Bat by his narration. The book never gave us a clue. The movie and play had to have men be around the same height.
  18. I agree. The reason he chose Soldier in the Rain was quite interesting. I then went o rehearsal after that introduction, so I did not hear anything else, but I do love it when TCM has an enthusiastic guest programmer who knows his/her stuff.
  19. Well, I hope that Connery is healthy. However, I would not wish dementia on my worst enemy so whenever I hear that dementia is confirmed, I start praying that the person dies while still aware of who she/he is. I was very upset when Peter Falk died at first until I found out about his dementia and then I was happy for him.
