This was the first James Stewart I ever saw. Having majored in Psychology I tend to be turned off by most movies dealing with psychoanalysis unless I am already a fan of the actors/actresses. I fell in love with the film right away.

Victor Mature was an odd choice to play sickly Doc Holliday in My Darling Clementine opposite Henry Fonda.

Kay: I should follow your example and ignore alphabetic requirements since my typing skills aren't great and I am likely to accidently delete things trying to put them in order. As for your choices: I see lots of references to Pigskin Parade and I not only have NOT SEEN IT, I have never even heard of it. -
I am watching the ending of Arabesque which started before I got home. Goofy and not at all like Charade, but Gregory Peck and Sophia loren ARE HOT, so I don't care.

I have several Merle Oberon movies I have recorded and waiting for me. I have looked up the evening schedule for this week. I sang today. I have rehearsal Tuesdays. Thursday is Maundy Thursday and I don't have to sing, but there is a service in the evening. Friday I am singing in the morning for Good Friday. Sunday is Easter. I have a feeling that I will be watching a lot of recently recorded PVR movies that are new to me and skipping Thursday night programming. I will likely be watching a lot of Merle Oberon and other 30s and 40s movies this week.

Lorna: I love living where I do. We have 4 seasons. I think I will skip Ben-Hur then. I will watch a different version. Thanks. -
Canadiana-Trivia About Canadians in Movies

I'll give the next clue: Which actor/comedian from this era has recently been put on a Canadian stamp and is known for making odd faces with his face muscles? -

That is one of the many films I expect to add to my to-see list on Saturday. -
Isn't it a fabulous film? I have seen it about 100 times, so I skipped it last night and tried to pare down my PVR movies. I read the book that was a biography on The Great Escape when I was in junior high and was intrigued then. I love this movie and most of the actors in it are among my favourites where I want to see everything they were in. It does make you angry about the 50. That was the point. It did achieve the goal of taking Nazis away from the front, but it came at a huge cost.

HITS & MISSES: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow on TCM

Yes, I live on the west coast. I am from British Columbia, and live right above the American border. I have seen the Roman Novarro version and enjoy it. Your non-recommendation is not getting me excited to watch the Biblical epic. I generally DON'T WATCH biblical epics at all unless I am a fan of the actors and even then only near Easter or Christmas. I only recently saw The Ten Commandments for Yul Brynner earlier this year for the first time. -

RE: MISSWONDERLY'S PICK-UP ON SOUTH STREET REVIEW: SPOILERS: ________________________________________________ I am not big on happy endings in film noir either, unless there has been a bad ending for others. Otherwise, it is not like a noir, it is more of a drama. Usually Richard Widmark played nasty characters when he was and to see him in this movie , Panic in the Streets (he's a good guy trying to keep the plague from spreading), and in Night and the City where he is a guy down on his luck he can't seem to get the good breaks.
