The "genre types" hold nothing for me, even those with pretty good casts. Like yesterday (or the day before) with Robert Ryan, etc. I couldn't get through them. I would like a muzzle put on Gabby (we can search for a new nickname). Gosh, amazing that folks in those old pioneer town looked so clean and with such immaculate clothes. And the women with those gorgeous hair styles. Ah, but never mind that, such is the movies. If you love Westerns all of the above does not matter. I like Westerns a lot but none of those programmer ones. Has anyone seen The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez ? Off the beaten track, I would say, and fairly recent. How about Monte Walsh ? My favorite Western is Warlock.

You want a muzzle on Gabby?
I never did watch a lot of westerns when I was younger.
If I watched them it was because I was a fan of the stars (eg. Greg Peck made over 50% of his movies in the combined output of war films and westerns.
Then the internet age took over to the point where you often see people on cell phones in films.
And I decided to watch westerns in general regardless of the era or the stars because I was tired of internet being part of the plot.

Thank you, but to my everlasting shame, in this category, to neglect putting THE OX BOW INCIDENT on that list is unforgivable!

Sepiatone
I love Ox-Bow Incident.
That western is an all-time favourite of mine.

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen:
My favourite movie of all time: The Guns of Navarone
Various Hitchcock movies
The Great Escape
The Magnificent Seven
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Dirty Dozen
Roman Holiday
High Society
From Here to Eternity
Gunfight at the OK Coral
Gilda
Laura
The Best years of Our lives
Mr. Roberts
Murder on the Orient Express
...............................................................well, let us just say my favourites I have watched to the point I have no idea how often I have seen them.

The Magnificent Seven as it airs on TCM

When was the last time you saw a Sinatra impersonator?
Jakeem, when Frank Jr. died, Sinatra's voice died with him.
I have been to several Elvis TRIBUTE ARTIST concerts - that is how they like to call themselves.
You may be interested to know that one of them who lives in my city -named Steve Elliot- owns a car that Elvis owned. It's gorgeous.
-
As if Sinatra wrote his own songs. What did he ever write besides "Mistletoe and Holly"?
Sinatra was great, but he couldn't have sung gospel like Elvis -- or "Suspicious Minds"!
Elvis was the King of Rock 'n' Roll AND the ultimate pop act!
I don't care WHO Writes the songs people sing.
Unless you want all actors to start writing screenplays.......?
-
I choose Sinatra, of course.
I have seen all but a handful of Sinatra films and the ones I am missing are due to not being able to find them.
I watch Sinatra movies over and over regardless of genre.
I listen to Sinatra all the time.
I'm an Elvis fan, but there is no way I would choose him over Sinatra

I'll second the mention of Warlock, which also has great cinematography by Joseph MacDonald. Others I like include:
Hombre
These Thousand Hills
The Hanging Tree
They Came to Cordura
Seven Men from Now
Man of the West
I know it will sound like treason against my love of Richard Widmark, Deforest Kelley, Anthony Quinn and Henry Fonda, but:
I'm not a big fan of Warlock.
I do love the scene where Deforest Kelley calls out Fonda and Fonda gets to his gun first.
Those guys all made several films together and were great friends.

I think I'm in the middle of the two camps. It depends on who's with who! For some reason, Gary Cooper with Audrey Hepburn was less than desirable in Love in the Afternoon but it didn't seem bad with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn in Charade.
Astaire's character in Funny Face isn't sleazy, even though he looks like her dad. Maybe it's because he's so elegant. I also think Bogart's character in Sabrina was too old for her, but his character isn't sleazy. In fact, William Holden's playboy character was a sleaze compared to Bogart's businessman.
Don't judge me! I haven't had a day off work since May 8th! I'm at work right now. I'm delirious! Lol.
It may because I'm 40 years old, so I'm middle aged.
For me, it depends upon the actor and actress involved.
Gable in The Misfits is not sleazy.
Bogart going after Bacall is not sleazy.
Mick Jagger - sleazy - no matter who the woman is.
-
WAIT now, speedy. Aren't you part of the chorus around here that sings that oft-heard refrain about how sleazy it is when a 58 y/o guy chases after a woman who's less than half his age???

Fred Astaire ain't sleazy.....

10) George C. Scott 's final credit was a tv movie version of Inherit the Wind.

That's a James Coburn movie I have not seen, Kidd.
No way would I let Coburn do that.
He may need a new pool cue if he tried.

I did not know Williams was in a thriller.
Thanks for the information, TB.

I'd rather work on a film DURING the code rather than AFTER it, because chances are I would have been under contract rather than looking for new work after each film.

Would you rather be in an English-language remake of a foreign film or a remake of an American movie from the golden age of Hollywood?

2) The scene in Dr. Strangelove where George C. Scott trips in an argument in the war room was an accident. It was left in the picture because it seemed real.

I think some of our posts here have become so complex -- trying to create additional links between characters, rather than just playing this simple game. That creates confusion. Perhaps consider posting in the traditional format:
Alan Bates was in The Fox with Anne Heywood.
I think people might have got this confused with celebri-links?
Anne Heywood was in The Chairman with Gregory Peck.

I just went to Google, and typed "shirtless Dana Andrews" into the search engine, then chose Images at the top of the Google results. Then it shows a lot of large thumbnail versions of pictures. If you click on them once, it will show a closer version, but still within the Google site. If you click the image again, it will take you to whatever site is hosting the picture. I never do that last step for security reasons. Maybe I'm paranoid, or doing something wrong; I'm not very tech savvy.
I just checked again, and it is still the first picture. It's a black and white pic of what appears to be Andrews, taking a shower in the all together, as they say, from a side angle. His front isn't visible, it's not really X-rated, but his rear his visible. It could be a photoshopped pic, too. The hosting website's address is a red flag, as well!
Yes, I did eventually find the actual picture you meant, and I enjoyed that one, but the ones that were "more popular" searches were - shall we say - more than I am interested in seeing
