I tried to watch The Picasso Summer which aired on TCM earlier this month.
I chose it because it was new to me, it was in colour and it is still bright outside (I don't like to watch black and white movies until it is dark outside unless it is a comedy).
I was not interested in the first movie tonight on TCM, so I looked through my PVR movies and silly choice of mine I tried to watch this movie.
I gave up non it 40 minutes into it.

Who but TCM would have an Edward Everett Horton day? Hooray. And I confess that I have not seen any of them before.
4:45 a.m. Over the Moon (1940) With Merle Oberon and Rex Harrison. This is my pick of the day.
I adore Edward Everett Horton too. I love his films.
Most of these I haven't seen before.

Re: Finian's Rainbow:
I love the music in this movie.
I love the song Steele sings, even though his singing isn't great:
"When I'm Not Near the Girl I Love" is very funny.
I agree that Coppola was an odd choice as director for this musical, and one can only guess what he film would have been like if it had been directed by someone like Vincent Minelli.
For me, the good outweighs the bad too.

SO THIS IS LOVE (1953)
This is a bio-pic about opera singer Grace Moore that is new to me. Kathryn Grayson plays Moore.
I love musicals.
I had started to watch The Picasso Summer which I had recorded from earlier this month and got through about 40 minutes of it. I couldn't finish it.

Yes, I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the news last year. I sang with Emily Janzen in choir and was the vocal coordinator for the local music festival when she was growing up. I had competed there myself as a soloist when I was younger and was still doing so as a member of choirs. She planned to be an opera singer after studying at UBC, but she was too ill. She often could not get out of bed. She was 19.
There are professional singers who originate from the Fraser Valley who sing all over the world like Rebecca Paulding and Shane Hansen I saw perform before anyone knew who they were.
I stayed home the day of the funeral and listened to opera music.
I do watch movies based upon real people who had tragic lives, but I did not personally know them and they lived and died before I was born.
Watching documentaries or bio-pics on people you know personally are quite different.
I don't watch documentaries upon real life events I saw unfold on the news as they happened either like Bowling For Columbine as Lawrence mentioned.
They are important movies and I am glad that they were made, but I can't watch them.
I chose 12 Angry Men as the title movie in the thread so that the thread title would be understood to not be satire.
But as Vautrin pointed out, we still see movies from our own perspectives.

Who found a real print of the Buster Keaton film The General when he was remodeling his house that once was owned by Keaton? It made Keaton famous again.
-
8) The movie takes place over a 24 hour period from 6am to 6am when the three main characters have shore leave.
-
1) James Mason had a deep recognizable voice that is so well loved people have said that they would listen to him recite names out of a phone book.
-
I love the original The Pink Panther movie.
Of course, there is a lot going on with the movie that makes me love it. I am fan Henry Mancini fan, I love David Niven and there is some great singing in it.
As for comedy, well I have mentioned before how what I find funny and what others find funny don't match.

I've seen it before and I enjoy this movie. It is likely the only one of the films tonight that I would record if I could not see it as it aired. I enjoy the actors in in it.

Thanks for revisiting this post.
Blow Up is airing at 9pm Pacific which is my time zone tonight.
That is a great thought about this film.
Regarding John Castle, you are welcome.
