This will be a fun thread. There are several actors I love that I want to see all of their work or have seen all of their work. Being that my Moniker is GregoryPeckfan and I've seen 99% of his work, I will chose him and some of his co-stars that I've seen most of their work. Gregory Peck: The Guns of Navarone (bet you thought it would be Roman Holiday?) Audrey Hepburn: Charade (bet you thought it would be Roman Holiday Richard Widmark: Panic in the Streets Anthony Quinn: The Guns of Navarone -I've still seen only about 50% David Niven: The Guns of Navarone Hmmm. I seem to be picking out the same movie for several people... I think you can safely guess that anyone who appears in this movie it is my favourite Edited for spelling

I still haven't seen Dark City. Otherwise I know all of these.

These are all great films. I couldn't narrow down the whole decade to only ten films, so I chose only the first year and that helped me narrow it down.

This movie was a bit bizarre for me to watch because of Betty Grable. She did not feel comfortable in this kind of movie and this was the only time she was in a serious film. RE: Landis's tragic life: I was born in the 1970s, so by the time I knew who a lot of artists were, thy were either dead or old. As such, I cannot help but have in the back of my mind any tragic event when I am watching a serious movie. Somehow, I am not as bothered by this in comedies. I have always had a hard time watching landis movies because of how and why she died. I have to suspend my thoughts on Rex H. when I see his movies -I quite often base my movie options on who the entire cast is. I have never been able to enjoy a Sharon Tate movie.

I don't see nearly as many animated films as the rest of you do, so I do not have to look up any site to make my decisions: Here are 5 favourites of mine alphabetically: Cars Finding Nemo Shrek Spirited Away Up

Olivia de Havilland Wins Prestigious "Oldie" Award
GregoryPeckfan replied to speedracer5's topic in General Discussions
You know, before I read the article and realized that this was a satirical magazine, I had an automatic flash of mind of how Richard Widmark's daughter told our fan club that we should stop writing to the Academy trying to get him a lifetime achievement award because as a man in his 90s by then he saw the award as a "hurry up before he dies" award. I am happy to see that the name of this award is in good fun. Congratulations Ms. DeHaviland -
Film You Tried to Watch but Couldn't Get Into It?
GregoryPeckfan replied to NickAndNora34's topic in Films and Filmmakers
I have exactly the same attitude about this movie. I love detective movies, books, etc. I watched this film with the idea that we were going to find out the identity of the murderer, even if the police don't-it turns out it is unimportant to the Hemmings character. I would never have watched it in the first place if I had known that. I know now that the movie will either make no sense to me, or it will be long and boring (eg. Camelot) when a movie has David H. in it, no matter how stunning the cinematography is. -

That's a film I've never attempted watching. I can't believe how anyone would want to blow up animals. -
I love The Wolf Man. Thanks for update about next week.

Favourite Agatha Christie Movies

Yes, David Suchet is excellent. Joan Hickson is my favourite Miss Marple. Her version of The Mirror Crack'd is my favourite version of the book. It starred Claire Bloom in the role Elizabeth Taylor played in the big screen version- 14 replies

Hey, CMR: Yes, that is the version I meant of Ten Little Indians/And Then There Were None which I meant. Murder On the Orient Express...I cannot remember how young I was when I first saw this movie, but I did not know who Richard Widmark was at the time, and it did not occur to me that a movie star would be playing the murder victim as well. This instance is one of the few times when despite me not knowing when I first saw a movie, I know it was the first movie I saw of a particular actor who then became one of my favourites. Death on the Nile...I loved the chemistry between Peter U and David N- 14 replies

For the few people that haven't read the book or seen a movie version: *Potential Spoiler Alert* My response coming up: No, I have not seen it. I thought that I had seen every version of this book -or at least tried to watch every version of this book. I did not know that any version had ended the mystery with the poem's deadlier ending- 14 replies

I have to say that this version of the movie is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, where perhaps I am enjoying it for the wrong reasons than the artists involved intended it to be. I love the Guy Hamilton movies you mention. Pierce Brosnan has a cameo appearance before he was famous as appearing in a scene with Elizabeth Taylor as her character on the set of the movie they are trying to film.- 14 replies
