NAME A SCREEN CHARACTER YOU'D LOVE TO PITCHFORK

Yes, Asta was never quite "there" for Nick when there was danger about: Hiding under furniture when Nick would say that Asta would attack Hiding in the other room when Nick broke the window with his Christmas present However, Asta was right there when someone tried to take the baby..... -

There's that Baby Peggy movie that was included in the documentary Fragments. There is the burning of Atlanta scene in Gone With the Wind

That is why I find him smarmy, CaveGirl, and likely why limey does as well. There are plenty of men who are cads who don't pretend they are anything but cads. It reminds me of the joke that goes: Gentlemen may prefer blondes, but then again, I'm not a gentleman.

There was a lovely tribute that Mariah Carey did in Paris. Stevie Wonder was too upset to sing on camera when talking to Anderson Cooper on CNN and that is quite understandable. Too be able to sing on the spot like that when emotions are fresh like that is too much. Perhaps when some time has passed Stevie Wonder will be able to sing in Prince's honour.

Based upon LawrenceA's and Darkblue's comments on The Deer Hunter, that movie I now on my list of to-see films. I could not get through Platoon. And Father Sheen's Vietnam movie which was a version of Heart of Darkness I got through because I insisted to myself that I must watch the film where Martin Sheen nearly died.

I got your email Spence about this thread. Just a reminded that I have changed my screen name to ColumboFan, but I am still GregoryPeckFan.

The Jerome Kern biography can be seen in a movie that just aired on TCM called Till The Clouds Roll By. Jerome kern is portrayed in the movie by Robert Walker. That is the same Robert Walker who was in Strangers on a Train.

Television Detectives on MeTV - Off Topic
GregoryPeckfan replied to GregoryPeckfan's topic in Your Favorites
Well, I don`t know about other MeTV stations, but my affiliate out of Bellingham is not airing a bunch of episodes of Remmington Steele in honour of Doris Roberts. However, I understand that her Everybody loves Raymond family got together to remember her. Overnight MeTV aired an episode of Columbo which I recorded. Another one will air Sunday night- 25 replies

And just so everyone knows, Limey has received his official Angry Mob Membership Card, so just watch out Sheldrake! -
I`ve still yet to see Miracle of the Bells. I understand it has been online, but I haven`t seen it yet. The movie wasn`t on TCM Canada.

Yes, I don`t know if the title of the thread was chosen in the same ironic manner that CaveGirl does, or whether the Op was using spellcheck, or if if the OP is suggesting that Canadians were Nazis. In which case, let me assure the OP that Canadians joined WWII OPPOSITE the Nazis in 1939 - United states did not join the war until 1941. Not that they would not have joined the allies anyway, but I just point out to the OP that Calgary is in Alberta. I live in British Columbia. That is Canada.

In fact, The locket is all flashbacks except for a small amount of the film.

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas.. The biggest gift they get this year is life...... Thank God it's them and not you.....................................

Lorna - Have you read The Bat as well as see the film? RE: The Spiral Staircase title: I remember that when I heard there was a movie by that name that I thought it was the other mystery. Then I realized it wasn't. I think you have to think of the lighting of the cellar the same way you do. They *may* have had gaslight. But either the gaslight or the candles, only.

And just for larfs, they might throw you in jail.... -
Last night I watched Blonde Cheat which I had taped earlier. It starred Joan Fontaine in the title role who is an actress who is hired - along with fellow actors - to try to get backing from Cecil Kelloway for a new show by trying to pretend that Joan is wearing valuable earrings that are insured by Cecil's company so that his employee will not marry Cecil's daughter. That is about all I want to say about the plot as it is not that long a movie and overstating the plot might ruin it. Fun film. It is just over an hour long.

I prefer Cat Ballou when it comes to comedy westerns.

That coat came out of Peter's own closet. And I think most of the killers on Columbo wanted to pitchfork Columbo....... -
Hi, Spence. This GregoryPeckfan, now going under the name of Columbo. Gregory Peck was in more than one political film; The Chairman is likely the one you are thinking about, although in Arabesque he and Sophia Loren were trying to stop an assassination as well. My favourite political movies, regardless of whether or not they have already been mentioned; All the President's Men The Best Man Abe Lincoln in Illinois Three Days of the Condor (based upon a book called Six Days of the Condor) Seven Days in May Dr. Strangelove Fail Safe Mr. Smith Goes to Washington The Manchurian Candidate (original) A Face in the Crowd Day of the Jaekal

All the President's Men is a movie about flashbacks.

I never got to see Prince perform live and now I never will.

You had me confused with Princess, Fedya. I was talking about the yellow press. Not Princess. And in general, I talk about the difference between the world of today and the world of classic Hollywood when the press worked hand in hand with the studios to project a certain screen image. And keep in mind I am not talking about all journalism. You have to report a story. But there are people that look at the entire life and career of a person who died (real journalism) and those who only talk about the scandalous death (yellow journalism). Remember that when Michael Jackson died, the man who did a documentary about his home became famous because of that. Edit: I had sent you a pm trying to explain that GregoryPeckfan and Columbo fan wa sthe same and that might be way you got my comments confused with another person's.

Gene was very close to Judy and protected her. He made sure that on the set of The Pirate when ever she could not come to the set the set that he was blamed instead. HE had a sprained ankle. HE was feeling sick, etc.
