I have a feeling that what you were attempting with this thread was NOT a thread about movie songs and/or movie song lyric changes. Too bad that many in here can't really comprehend nor keep focus......but I digress(too)
For instance, much of what you seem to be looking for are stories and/or tales that while long believed to be true, turned out to just be "urban legend". But they CAN be interesting also.
One I liked was supposed to have happened during the shooting of CASABLANCA. There's a scene in which there's a knock at the door of Rick's cafe, and Bogey opens the door, and Claude Rains rushes in.
Director Michael Curtiz initially didn't like the first take, and asked Rains to enter more quickly. After several takes in which Curtiz STIILL wantd Rains to enter MORE quickly, the exasperated Rains said he'd give it one last try. After a few minutes, Curtiz again yelled "Action!" and awaited yet another knock at the door. When the knock came and Bogart opened the door, in flew Rains on a fast moving BICYCLE!
How he manged to set it up without Curtiz catching on still mystifies me, considering IF it's all true!

Yes, somehow CaveGirl and I got started on music because we love music.
All these music examples do fit, however, Sepia. And I think they are good entries.
Another music entry is that composer Jerome Kern missed the sailing of doomed Luisitania by ten minutes because he forgot his ticket and had to back home and get it. So he did not get suck.
But for some more non-music strange truths:
Paul Newman got the role in Somebody Up There likes Me because James Dean died.
Fred McMurray did not want to be in The Apartment. But Paul Douglas died and Billy Wilder asked him to do it.

George Raft performances I admire for him before he ``started`` to decline:
The Drive By Night
Nocturne
Johnny Allegro
Johnny Angel
Invisible Stripes
The Glass Key
That`s it.
I would like to see The George Raft Story

You know what is also serious?
Cancer
Heart disease
S.I.D.s
Old age in general
So is trying to live in a post 9/11 world without being paranoid.
I love Prince music. Here is another favourite of mine;
It's been 7 hours and 15 days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone and can do whatever I want
I can stay home whenever I choose
I can eat my dinner in an fancy restaurant
But nothing
I said nothing can take away these blues
Cause nothing compares
Nothing compare to you
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you.

Prince had died!
See the thread in General Discussions.

I just cant believe it. All my rock icons are dying. VERY upset.........
I am having a horrible time dealing with this. Bowie, Prince, Fry, everyone in the music world not in their 80s or older.
My Mom is 68. She and my father were never famous musicians, but they performed with them and saw them before they were famous perform live. My Mom is very upset.

This was based upon a series of books of a fictional Captain. As such, it was not going to be realistic regarding Bonaparte. It was going to be a romantic triangle and focusing upon fun seafaring.
-
Prince and his music has been a large part of my life and his protégé Vanity just died and I am upset.
I love his music.
My favourite song of his is "When Doves Cry"
I love Purple Rain album.
I was hoping this was false as lots of people are reported dead who turn out not to be dead.
Thanks again, Arturo for starting the thread and to Barton for confirming it.

Thank-you for the update, Arturo.
Awaiting confirmation. I hope this is false.
But if it is true, I am very sorry to hear this. I have always been a fan.

I told you that TCM Wine club choices should not include The Days of Wine and Roses or The Lost Weekend. we are trying to raise money, not get attention from the anti-drug organizations.

2) The movie was released in 1961 and stars Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard, Martin Balsam, "Cat," and Patricia Neal. Sadly, it also starred Mickey Rooney as an elderly Japanese man.

Stage musical -- movie shoots are waaaaay boring
next:
If you could go back in time and fix a movie so that it was really good, would you rather try to fix REEFER MADNESS or THE MOLE PEOPLE?
Since I have neigbours who smoke pot and that makes me ill, I think I will "try" to fix The Mole People
Next:
Would you rather have Asta for a pet or Lassie for a pet?

I've never heard of any undue harm done to black cats specifically around Halloween. That seems an odd thing to do, but given that too many people lately seem to take Halloween MUCH too seriously( especially for GROWN-UPS), it shouldn't surprise me.
I suppose as one who thinks cats are OK as pets and has no objections to them, and I find lame the excuse that NOT liking them is due to some people saying "they're sneaky" , (whatever THAT'S supposed to mean) and even IF I didn't like cats for whatever reason, undue cruelty to ANY animal is uncalled for. I mean, if I didn't like cats, I'd merely just leave 'em alone and not bother with them.
About the most negative thing I can say about cats is in the form of a joke. I'll state it in this forum being aware there are some in this forum who seem not to understand when someone is being facetious and attempt to needlessly disarm some sort of percieved "situation" with self righteous indignation...
but the gag about cats is something my animal loving daughter( her of the ELLY MAE CLAMPETT tendencies) had on a T-shirt:
"Cats don't have owners.....They have STAFF"
As one who used to breed cats, I can't say enough about just HOW TRUE that is!
Sepiatone
What you say is true sepia.
But I got my orange cat from a shelter and they told everyone that this is standard procedure in October "just in case'

Yes, Sepia, although George Carlin's Hippy Dippy weatherman was quite correct when he said that overnight the weather would get "dark"
Other characters:
Little Orphan Annie's fellows orphans
Jill St John's character in The Liquidator

I love "Reefer Madness." Hilarious. I've never smoked pot in my life (true story), and even I could see how ridiculously absurd (i.e. Hysterical) this film was. I love the tag lines on the DVD box, one of them says something to the effect: "marijuana (or marihuana as I believe it used to be called), will turn nice girls into brazen hussies!"
There are several people who live in my building who smoke pot and smoke rises. When I smell it, I tend to want to cough and close the windows and balcony doors even when it is boiling outside and the air is still. I found movies like Reefer Madness funnier before I actually smelled it.

Peter Cushing: The Gentleman of Horror
in Your Favorites

Hi, Lawrence.
This is my first official new post under my new name of ColumboFan.
I am not a big horror fan, so there are several Peter Cushing movies I have not seen and may never see.
This is also true of his main partner in horror and Sherlock Holmes movies Sir Christopher Lee.
I don't think there is any point in my trying to number the movies I have seen starring this man. But I do enjoy him and Lee together. Love them together.
