  1. OOPS, thought you were predicting the Globes???
  2. GREAT GOING JAKEEM for also predicting winners in these I'd long hoped you'd do the same with the Oscars Even if the ACADEMY also snubbed Bobby De, he co produced THE IRISHMAN so would win a 3rd GOLDEN BOY if it takes BP
  3. HUGE DISAGREEMENT! Though Once Upon a time will almost certainly take home the Globe for Comedy/Musical
  4. Of course remember these things are all subjective & below is my own favorite motion pictures of this decade 2010-2019 (*-denotes an Oscar) Plus, given the majority of critics are now doing the same just wanted to throw my hand in with them 1. (tie) *The Artist & Gravity 2. Life Itself 3. Stan & 0llie' 4. La La Land 5th fav Three Billboards 0utside Ebbing Missouri 6. Joker 7. Inside/0ut 8. Toy Story 3-D 9. Grand Budapest Hotel 10th Life of Pi (Runner-Up): 12yrs a Slave (NOTE: Of course I've yet to see either The Irishman or 1917 though) THANX
  5. personally I would rate Joker much higher
  6. We tied for the 2002 annual Variety;s Oscar-0racle Award at 17 for 24 correct, not really among my finest scores, but there it is
  7. I went to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ($140m.) (**1.2) & though Pitt had a fun role & was superior to DiCaprio, his winning some of these pre-Oscar awards is bizarro world?
  8. I'm not surprised about anything to do with THE IRISHMAN except Pesci is defeating Al at every turn
  9. Always strongly felt Hardy Kruger was the one that deserved that s. actor shot over official contender Ian Bannen in the terrific Flight of the Phoenix (***1/2) Ever see the flat rehash?
  10. Eddie, still why no inclusion of THE THIRD MAN?
  11. GOD, ever see that awful movie based on Speed Racer by the way?
  12. WHAT ABOUT MY FAV>-(just for laughs, Curly Howard was more talented) SHEMP HOWARD???
  13. Thanx for fast reply Besser also had a rep as being among the most difficult in Hollywood He also appeared in the marvelous Abbott & Costello Show (l952-54) & sadly was the lone Stooge present when they finally got a WOF-STAR Curly Joe DeRita outlived them all, but went blind earlier from diabetes
  14. I've always said & most now agree that James Whitmore looked a lot like The Great: Spencer Tracy, do you agree as well
  15. I personally rank Ralph & Norton all-time greatest comedic team, barely over Laurel & Hardy-(1 of Jackie's idols by the way & he loved Jack 0akie)
  16. While on my 3 trips to whats left of Hollywood got to stay at same motel at 777 north vine, a stone's throw away from Paramount & old RKO & also very close by is the original Columbia Pictures where of course THE STOOGES worked from 1934 to '59 Don't you loath Joe Besser though?
  17. Most people still today strongly feel THE STOOGES shorts were made first for TV?
  18. COOL! we may be about the same age & fondly remember those tv days
  19. Plus, though it's not the beginning or finale, that legendary clip we first see HARRY LIME in THE THIRD MAN? THANK YOU & HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL
  20. Again, can some fellow TCM-ITE send in a clip of Splendor in the Grass, Angels with Dirty Faces, City Lights, Inherit the Wind, etc & the inception of Some Came Running (P.S. I forgot when I listed Scorsese's fav films & inspirations Some Came Running is easily among them)
  21. you scooped me on these buddy? Please give me a hint what they are from & then I bet I can get 'em
  22. & I know it's lowbrow, but the 190 shorts of THE THREE STOOGES I started really watching as a kid of about 10 Don';t care for their latter day children's features though
  23. & grew up on CAGNEY pix, my mom's all-timer is JIM & he never seems dated
